IMO, the Jaguars will probably keep him around due to his popularity in Jacksonville, even though he'll be a cheap trade option for us to consider after the 2021-22 season, depending on the future of Ben, Rudolph, Haskins, Dobbs, and Rivers III.

I would rather have Rudolph, Minshew isn't good.

    No thanks.

Agree with @steelersrule6 here. Mason Rudolph is superior to Gardner Minshew's in every capacity overall. Do not want him and in all honesty, Dwyane Haskins himself is leagues above him.

Go look at their stats and I think you'll retract that statement. Minshew is waaaaayyyyyy better than Mason, on a team with waaaaayyyyy lesser talent.
Go compare, stats don't lie all the time. Check out the TD/INT rating from 2019, not even close.

Minshew was better than Mason in 2019 due to the amount of talent he had around him in 2019. Leonard Fournette, Cam Robinson, Jawaan Taylor, DJ Chark and Brandon Linder were better players in 2019 than the likes of James Conner, Alejandro Villanueva, JuJu Smith Schuster and Maurkice Pouncey were. It is not always about the QB vs. a QB directly.

What each QB has also plays just as big of a factor. Level that playing field though and I believe that Mason would perform much better.

Minshew can buy time, throw on the scramble, Mason not so much. What are these superior capacities of Mason? A better supporting cast?

how do you rate arm strength between the two. I don't see Minshey as an upgrade either. But I am waiting for Rudolph to show he's been in the system long enough to play better than he's shown so far. He just doesn't seem to be progressing at all

James Conner, JuJu, Villy, and Maurkice all were very good to great in 2018. Amazing that they all turned into bad football players when the guy under center changed.

Sunshine is clearly the man in Jacksonville, but every team needs a good backup.... Minshew isn't going anywhere

Mason nearly pulled out a win in a nearly impossible (and only) start last year and you don't see any progression, at all? What if we made that 2pt conversion and won the game, would that have shown some progression?

I don't believe for as long as he's been on the team he has shown any progression. He's not good when pressured he's not good when he has to survey the field to look for another receiver. That's my point. Now maybe he doesn't get starter reps but he certainly should have gotten those reps last year. I am not convinced he has what it takes to be a starting QB

Ben clearly declined the 2nd half of last year and everything got squeezed into a 10-yard box, but early on Conner was running fine. Averaged 4.3 behind a line that finished ranked 31st in run blocking grade at PFF. 4.5 his first two years, only 4.0 in 2019.

You're right, The Barbie Doll might need some time to develop.

Wow, don't see it that way at all. Minshew's easily had the best short career so far out of all of them, and it's not particularly close.

I wouldn't disagree with that. But Dobbs has never been given a real chance. Haskins got drafted too young to a horribly run organization. Minshew has had a way better opportunity. I was speaking more for the Steelers situation. I'd take my chances with Dobbs and Haskins over using future draft picks for Minshew. Rudolph is the worst of all of them imo.

I will never understand the perpetual undying Dobbs love. Dobbs had a chance to beat Minshew for a job and didn’t do it.

Mason played good against the Browns in week 17.
