That tells me that Ben is going to have a 2018-like season. Tannenbaum should have pulled a George Constanza and done the opposite while he was with the Jets.

 

Do you ever notice that ESPN always hire people that failed in other jobs. Their QB "guru" is the idiot back-up QB from the Lions who ran out of the back of the endzone for a safety and didn't even know he did it.

Do you think Ben was good last year? His deep ball was abysmal. Heck anything over 15 yards was crap. He basically completed a bunch 2 yard or less passes.

 

he had his 2nd highest TD amount of his career. he had his 5th best year for interceptions. his 6th best year for completion percentage, even with all the drops by his receivers. without a run game it's hard to throw deep a lot. i think he's still quite capable if the run game helps him. the receivers will be better with him as well. there was a lot of good to go with the bad last year.

 

The run game was fine early on in the season and Ben’s deep ball was still crap. Completion percentage? Big effing deal when you’re throwing 2 yard passes. Defenses stacked the box and challenged him to throw deep. He couldn’t. Interceptions? Awful hard to intercept a pass that’s only in the air for 3-6 feet. You can try and rewrite history all you want, but Ben sucked last year.
32nd in the league in yards per attempt, 34th in red zone completion percentage, 31st in deep-ball completion percentage, 36th in play-action completion percentage, and 33rd in clean-pocket completion percentage

Highly doubt Ben will get benched. Only way that happens if our O-line sucks and he has zero time to throw. With a bad O-line Mason would be even worse but we could have fun watching him run for his life every passing play.

 

I doubt Ben gets benched too. But I could see him getting hurt by mid-season, and if the bottom falls and they’re out of playoff contention on December 1, they might let Mason play out the season.

 

Somebody better rewatch the games. Don't go by what others tell you.
I know stats this and that.
Yes he threw down the field less , but it's your average of completion down field that matters. Which if you dig, and dont just take people's words for it was about around his all time average.
So either he didn't suck, or he always sucked
Who cares if you throw the ball down the field 610 times a game if you only complete 2 of them.
