Yep, I want the Browns to beat us. I've never once in my life cheered against the Steelers, but there's a first time for everything.

No, I don't want a higher draft pick, although that is an added bonus. I want the Browns to beat us to really shine a light on how bad this season was and how bad things have gotten. This team is a train wreck this year and changes need to be made. Simply missing the playoffs may or may not be a wakeup call to our coaches. Every team has bad years from time to time. Getting swept by the Browns would definitely shine a light on this teams failures. True, it's only the difference of 1 win or loss, but like Hines Ward said in his interview, getting swept by the Browns is absolutely unacceptable. So in my eyes, that's what needs to happen because changes are needed, and I think big changes. I won't get into what those changes are in this thread, there's been enough of those threads already.

Anyway, with that said, I will still be cheering for the Steleers come game day, because I simply don't know any other way to watch Steelers football. The difference is that if they end up losing, a big part of me will be glad. I know that seems odd, but the mental part of me wants the Steelers to lose to expose this team, but the emotional side of me wants them to win, like always. So I'll be cheering for them come game day, but I won't be upset if they lose, I'll be somewhat happy.

    Here's to next year...

Do you really think the FO isn't vastly aware of the poor season we have had already? I won't be rooting for them to lose, never will, just dont care much about the outcome. At least we get a better draft pick if we do lose.

I'm not convinced. We are a very status quo franchise, which can be a good thing, but it can also be a bad thing. I can see almost no changes being made this off-season.

No kidding. If people honestly think that the FO isn't paying attention and sees this season as anything other than a huge failure, they are crazy.

The Steelers expect excellence and saw everything but that this year.

Which is the Steeler way, the outcome of this game means nothing and will not effect how they operate at all. What do you want them to do? Blow it all up? Fire Haley? Tomlin? What kind of changes do you think they should make?

Fire the S&T coach and get a new waterboy. Those guys sure looked dehydrated out there this year.

Why would anyone say something that we have seen all year. And to end the season with another lose. COME ON MAN.

The owners should sell the team, move them to London and replace anyone who doesn't want to go with rugby players.

    "Hey Waterboy....YOU'RE FIRED!!!"
"Which brings me to my next point...Don't Smoke Crack!"

Hmmm...perhaps Roy Orbison has something to say about that! What Mama doesn't know...

I really don't understand this post. I will NEVER want them to lose regardless of the circumstances. Draft pick, highlight of a bad season or for a coaching change. Winning is for why we watch. At least for me. I HATE when they lose. I hate when they lose in the preseason games. Because it builts confidence and gets us pointed in the right direction. I don't even rewatch games after they do lose.

I will route for them just as hard as I did when they played the Bengals and when they are in the Superbowl or a preseason game. Go Steelers!!

I don't want them to lose (though that would be a perfectly pathetic end to an equally pathetic reason) but I don't expect them to win. All the talk this week, pride-schmide, will or won't be here next year, blah blah blah. This team hasn't had any heart or fire all season and I see no reason for that to change for one meaningless game.

Out of curiosity (and maybe this has already been discussed, working my way through the threads from the last week this morning), but how much will one additional game loss put us up in draft picks at this point? Never seems like we're in a great position with those, though it hasn't mattered that much since the Steelers tend to be about consistency (stagnation?) over exciting and valuable picks anyway.

I never want them to lose> Besides I don't think moving up 1 more draft spot is gonna net us a better player JMO,

Agreed. We've rarely been high enough to get the rockstars and we've also routinely missed opportunities to fill holes where we really need them (seriously, if our first pick this year is another dang WR, I'll throw up). We've been ignoring corners and center for years now, and one spot closer makes no difference with the mentality we seem to have taken on our picks in the last few years.

I think the front office already knows this the team is out of the playoffs so losing to the Browns won't make a difference.

Maybe it does, maybe it doesn't. To me, getting swept by the Browns feels like we've hit rock bottom, whereas just missing the playoffs isn't the end of the world. It's more the way we looked this year. Hopefully the FO makes the appropriate changes in the off-season.

Don't worry, come kickoff I will cheering just as hard for the Steelers as I always do, but once the game is over, if they lose, a part of me will be happy. Sometimes you have to hit rock bottom, and getting swept by the Browns feels like rock bottom to me, even if it changes nothing in the Rooney's eyes.
