Right up until either one of them plays a down for another team.

they may pick up his option, which would be stupid to me, but you got him for a 6th, so you offer a deal like GB made to Love when they declined his option. You get him a couple of years on the cheap, if Russ does well you can try and re-sign him, we gave up nothing to possibly get a future franchise QB. And, we are better THIS year for a million bucks and a 6th rounder...yes Khan is the man.

My guess is Fields will not be offered the 5th year option. He will either be a 1 and done, or they work out a contract extension with bonuses based on playing time. It will be interesting to see how he responds to this trade.

They got a young talented QB for nothing, maybe Arthur Smith can get more out of him than the Bears did.

Unless one or both of them somehow become a good starter, then we will hear about them a lot;)

It makes me want to see the Steelers on Hardknocks. Yeah, it would be a distraction, but there would be a ton of interesting conversations.

I have never said this before. This maybe the thing that gets people fired.
So by the time He finally gets a shot....We will have to pay him???Him????
Unless He totally changes His way of playing.....he will suck.
I'm sure I will get a lot of disagrees , but I got that when I said that about Trubisky. I actually watch Chicago.

I wonder if the Steelers were able to talk to Fields and asked him if he would be a volunteer or a hostage?

He must want to be a volunteer, at least it seems that way if your last team gives you away for a sandwich and a 12 pack.

who knows what an ego will do, but look at some of the other recent QB's and where they are at, do an incentive deal like GB did with Love after declining his option, learn and possibly get a big pay day.

The Steelers were in the playoffs last season, so they don't have to do Hardknocks.

Dumb sht. This is like the Trubisky signing, a guy who got his window to do something elsewhere, failed, and now we sign him. Meanwhile, we did not give our guy Mason his window. Instead, we recycle failed quarterbacks. Dumb and bad business.

How could the eagles not be able to make a deal for fields before Pickett? I mean a 2025 6th? This is absolutely crazy. I don't know what to expect next!

    Damn!

I mean... I figured the Steelers would inquire about Fields but not until days leading up to the Draft!! Guess that closes the book on the Fields speculation! Now all that remains is to beef up that Offensive Line. :rawk:

    March 20th man... cannot wait!

I know they don't have to do Hardknocks because of being in the playoffs and I probably should have stated that as a preface.

Your accent just screams “Chicago” to me. Agree on not being happy about this move.
