If anything, they should have run less.

OR put in Mike Adams as the RB solely for blitz pick up.

Yeah Archer can only really help on a CB blitz. He's WAY too small. I wonder if he can even chip a DE to give Ben a second to scramble...

I think Harris and Tate could have handled it, though.

Also, I cleaned up my post. Bryant made the drop. Brown was forced out and stepped out of bounds.

Blount did nothing against the rats in their playoff game Saturday, in fact there was just 7 rushing attempts by their 3 backs for 14 yards, no runs at all in the second half mostly because the pats had to overcome a 14 point deficit twice in that game, blount gained 1 yard on 3 attempts hardly a productive outing for him, so he most likely wouldnt have done much better in our playoff game........

    Ain't that the truth?

And I doubt giving more time to Harris or the midget would have provided signifcant rushing yardage. And no one off the street would have been better. Saying we should have replaced him immediately makes it sound like there is a warehouse full of good running backs somewhere? IMHO

Yeah, Tate wasn't available, he was still with the Vikes, I believe. So who else was there to choose from?

There are a bunch of broken and/or rejects on this list. Were any of them actually worth signing?

still probably better than no one when we lost blount. if nothing else some experience at the position. they also would have had more than 4-5 days to get up to speed with the playbook, even if they didn't play.

No RB from the broken down list, nor Blount, could have saved us in that time. Barring acquiring Peterson from the Minnesota Justice System, when the Bell cracked, we were screwed.

I believe the Steelers had plenty of opportunity to win that game without Bell. All they needed to do was get through one very winnable game without him.

Tomlin said that even if we had got by the rats the Bell wouldn't have played in Denver either. If they had played like they did against the colts we could have probably got by them though. Although I don't know that our line would have held up like the Colts did. Those dudes played the game of their life.

Every game is winnable, but without Bell it was an up hill battle because we were one dimensional. That's the one thing you don't want to be against the Rats. Bell scores, that's one

    2) Bell in the Red Zone! How many 3s would have been 7s?
    3) Does he catch a pass or two or three and break it.
    4) Kid never loses yardage

    5) And prolly the biggest deficit and most glaringly forgotten.
Blocking for Ben/less sacks/more time to throw or even dump it off to him when in trouble.

Coulda woulda shoulda, that's the breaks but do I think we have an entirely different ball game with Bell in?

    Yuuuh!

Bell likely will miss the first two games next season, and we certainly don't want to start 0-2. Hopefully we can have an up to speed replacement in 8 month +/-
