fort is leading the team in tackles so far in preseason. 9 solo's in 2 games. a 1/2 a step from a sack last week forcing a quicker than wanted pass. he's been very good in coverage if you haven't noticed. plus he's made ST's tackles. i'm not sure who you guys are watching out there but he has played very well.

Not saying he hasn't but Dirty Red has almost the exact same stat line ST tackles and all and is a lot younger than him. As a 5th year player he should be smoking the rook but he's not. The more comfortable Red gets the better he is going to get. What you see with Fort is what you get.

why is it one against the other? they are both playing well. johnson and williams should be smoking both of them and they aren't. johnson would be the odd man out if it were up to me. how much better should fort be playing? he's always around the ball and his coverage has been great. not sure what else he would have to do or should do. we lost two ILB'ers in spence and garvin. fort is the fastest of any of the backups. he came here late last year and started playing very well on ST's without the benifit of camp. similar to cockrell. we have two great starters but shazier hasn't made a full season yet and timmons had or has that turf toe issue and is aging. vince is alright but can't do what either of those two can. just not sure how you dump good LB depth.

Oh yeah Johnson is absolutely the odd man out for sure. I Think they both make the roster I would just say that if it did come down to one or the other I would go with Red.
