Washington is just a terrible football town and has been an awful organization.
Granted Ron Rivera brought back some respect, but he is not up to being a high-level coach on the scale of Reid or Belichick.
Eric came in and really applied discipline and purpose.
What those fans do not get because they are clueless about doing homework, is that Eric came from KC - they actually don't get that.
It's tough to name the KC RB, because they are not a ground pounding offense. (Pachecko is in the top 10 - so I exaggerate this point some.)
But KC was/is a pass first offense. They pass to run.
    B. Robison is in the 2nd tier and sharing snaps with Antonio "fumble at the worst time" Gibson with an offensive line that is among the worst.
Sam Howell is #1 in yards.... Eric is getting the most out of him, and Sam is taking a beating behind that crap o line.
So, I have no idea why they don't get it? Most of their beat reporters are more interested in Golf.
Not to also mention Del Rio's Defense is sad, very sad.
So get Eric an Offensive line that actually blocks, the picture becomes very different there.

All that said, Washington has a new owner and there's no feel for how he will operate.
Rivera is gone, maybe after Thanksgiving Day, a loss to Dallas would probably be the icing on the farewell cake.
Eric was brought there to become a Head Coach, so my gut is that he will get his shot.

    Should it all fail.
As an OC, we'd be crazy not to kick the tires.
He's not going to be on the market long, so you better have all your ducks in a row if you have any idea he's the guy.

    Other OC's
There's a lot of choices. If I am Art, I want my Rookie QB to have an OC that gives him the best chances.
Eric is obviously good with that but there are other options too.

*a side note - That Offensive Line has to be one of the top priorities this offseason. Jones is a major step forward.
Center at OT are glaring needs.

I like the double offensive coordinator strategy Tomlin is putting in place. We should be able to produce double the yards which should get us around 200 a game! Genius

I can see that his move will certainly clear up any accountability issues.

I don’t disagree with you. Canada is a terrible nfl OC. Imo he’s in over his head and if in fact the scheme he tried to implement was sound he did a terrible job teaching his players how to run it. We were never prepared and defenses had no problem stopping it. I personally think the scheme was stupid. The fact that Tomlin did think it was worth hanging his hat on is also disturbing. The fact that we refused to abandon it or make massive changes till now is also disturbing. Yea it ultimately falls on Tomlin and the front office.

i was speaking to Eric’s ability to be an OC. Im not convinced he’s not perfectly capable of running an offense with a strong running game. Maybe there’s other issues at play there ? We don’t know. Just saying If I see a well coached offense producing better than maybe the talent says it should, he probably is a far better option than Canada. I would not write Eric off because they dont run much. MC has never found success running an offense at a high level. I just can’t believe MT with his experience thought Canada could make this work after watching Ben and others fail to produce.

We doubled that number up! Was nice watching a real offense for once this season.
