I said this last year, and will say it again: Tomlin held on to Canada to have a scapegoat for this year.

With Canada gone, the O suddenly looks better, Pickett is looking better, and the O will improve for the last quarter of the season.

When the season ends, the discussion will be about how the team improved in December/January and how they're going to be even better next year.

The lemmings will say how changing coaches during the summer will cause the players to be super confused and forget how to play football, and how Pickett will be ruined because he will have to talk to a coach he hasn't met yet.

Tomlin will be hailed as having rescued the season and everyone will forget that it was Tomlin who kept Canada and destroyed the first half of the season.

At the end of it Tomlin milks Rooney for another $12m+ next year. We end this season with a winning regular season record, and the next SB win may be so far in the future that Jeh misses it.

We were 6-4 last week. The first half of the season was not as much of a failure as you are acting.

Also you're acting like we will somehow miss post season. So then that means we really didn't improve.

Lastly you're banking on us not doing good next year.

    .....
Why can't people just be happy about today? We had a problem with our offensive play calling and within 7 days we had a 400 yard game for the first time since 2019.

Let me start by saying I'm no huge fan of Mike Tomlin. But if you think he's so diabolical he would sacrifice wins to keep a guy to be his fall guy, so that once the guy is gone he can salvage the season , save his job and get a raise ,you should probably schedule an appointment to talk to someone, turn on a few lights in your room and maybe smoke a little less weed

    There's no conspiracy.
It was bad decisions on a legendary scale. It was a crime to let Canada back into the building after the 2022 season ended.
Whomever made the decision to keep him on, I'm not interested in assigning blame, it was horrible.

    Absolutely, the Offense looked better.
But that's a trend that must continue. I don't want to jump to any conclusions yet.
There's are plenty of areas that need some housekeeping when it comes to this offense.

Let's not forget as well that in preseason the offense looked pretty good. There was a massive drop off when the regular season started, but I think the preseason performances gave Canada some more time.

If not last year, then the time to move on from Canada was the bye week. I'm not sure why it wasn't done then.

However, like you, we need to keep up the movement forward with the offense.

The only caveat I would add is that preseason is a lot like sandlot football.
There is no game planning but rather putting the spotlight on certain players.
Since there is only 3 game, it's even harder to figure out what is real.
I know you know this, and it is a redundant point...

All I can really say that is the sidelines felt better. There was a frustrated team with a lot to prove.
I think the Defense was most appreciative.

I believe that if they win the clowns game it would have been business as usual with Canada.

I also believe that Art II stepped in.

In any event the Offense under Sullivan and Faulkner was refreshing. Pickett looked comfortable maybe not micro managed under Canada. His best game of the season. Should have been 23 points if Tomlin challenges the call in the end zone.

It was a nice start. You could tell that the Offensive players were more then glad Canada was gone.

Not perfect but it gave a glimmer of hope that now the offense can at least be respectable.

Time to work on a few more TD's.

TJ Watt said after the game it was nice to sit on the bench for a while watching the Offense operate. Finally keeping the defense a bit fresh.

The schedule for the next 4 games is in favor of the Steelers.
