Early Week 7 Injury Rumblings

I can't help but wonder if we are better off without Gilbert. He's hurting our guys. Let him sit for a bit and practice his technique.

 

If we could get the three of them back and they could play the whole game at 100%, that would be huge and we would actually have a shot!

 

I was surprised at Mendy being on that list as well....

 

Well looks like it's Mike Adams time to shine. Suprised with Mendy as well, anything with the word Achilles in it usually isn't good. Not shocked about Troy, I doubt we see him anytime before Thanksgiving.

 

I remember reading his Achilles just tightened up some or something minor like that...so with 10 days between games I dont see it as a surprise he might play. Dwyer hasnt been on the injury list in a couple weeks...he just doesnt get a hat since Mendy is back. And no I do not think they'd be better off without Gilbert. Its not like he lands on teammates on purpose...its happened to many players over the years (landing on others)...crap happens.

 

Just because he has an achilles issue, does not make it serious. Ruptured achilles, yes. Irritated achilles, no.

Not sure if it's the same side as his knee injury, but if it is, that occurs quite often. The whole leg works together in one smooth motion, and if part of that motion is disturbed (knee), it puts stress on the other parts (ankle, hip). Usually it's from overcompensation for an injury, or maybe that the muscle groups in that leg were not fully rehabbed, who knows.

So, as long as it's just "irritated", and he rests, it should be fine.

 

Gilbert being out is probably the best possible news we could have on the injury front. After all, he's the reason all of our guys are hurt in the first place. He's either getting owned by the DL and thrown like a rag doll into the knees of the other offensive linemen or he's getting beat like a rented mule allowing the LBs and DL to tee off on our RBs.

no they have the 5 that starts + beachum as the only backup , they have to bring somebody from the ps probably malecky

 

I hear Limus Sweed volunteered to step up and play the OL if they really need someone. He could fill in that very narrow yet vulnerable space between LG and LT.
