Can Dwyer play both sides of the ball

The way Dwyer was looking to hit defenders at the end of each run, can he play defense too :D

Redman would have had a huge game as well....Mendenhall would have had a huge game.....The difference was the OL....Doug is a great Center and Adams is twice the run blocker as Gilbert....We turned to the run when we were getting beat down and the OL turned it up and made holes...

Come on PWP. Give Dwyer his due. Red and Mendy haven't done this year yet what Dwyer did tonight. It sounds like sour grapes cause Dwyer upstaged your boy. LOL.

100% correct.. between the way the OL played and opened holes and the way the bengals were tackleing i coud have ran thru those holes... the OL looked really good... gave ben time and opened holes..

I'm not sure who should be starting but I simply don't understand all the Mendenhall love. People act like he's miles ahead of Redman and Dwyer and he's not. He sucked at short yardage plays. Some games he'd average 2 yds per carry then bust one for 60+ and he'd be a hero. I'd rather have a back I could count on for 3-5 hard yds every carry then waiting for a guy to bust one long which may never happen. I hope Mendenhall gets healthy but only so we can trade him. We have backs that are just as good at a much cheaper price.

The difference being that when teh line wasn't doing its job, Dwyer was still the only one making any gains. Dwyer is better then red, period.

Absolutely! Dwyer has averaged 5.5 to 6 YPC all throughout college and in the NFL. I predicted that he would be the starter by mid-season and for awhile , it didn't look good. He may be back on track now.

Because he has been successful behind one of the worst lines in football for years, Mendy is a very good back, give credit when its due.

I think the only thing for certain is that Batch should be limited to backup duty and nothing else

No, we don't. Mendy is clearly our most talented runner with a combination of speed, balance, and power that our other backs just don't have. Rainey is faster, but not as powerful or balanced. Dwyer and Redman may be more powerful, but not as fast, conditioned or balanced. Batch has nothing on Mendy.

Good game by Dwyer and the OL but Mendy will reclaim his starting spot when he's healthy.

Sorry no sour grapes I predicted a huge game for Dwyer as I expected....Rainey could have had a huge day today as well if he could take that many hits...
Dwyer ran well and the OL was the difference...

I agree, nice to see someone not pussy footin through the line.
Also, another way to improve their team is put 11 near the line during punts, defend for a fake- send 3 to block it and once the ball is kicked, run your ass to sidelines That move alone saves them half their penalty yardage. Having a good return man on this team is pretty useless

Mendy is the most athletic, but I think we may have something special in Dwyer. He's a big man with quick feet, kind of like another back we had once...

They definitely are more willing to run between the tackles with Dwyer....not so much with Mendy.

They were pretty effective tonight at it. Maybe they need to run between tackles more no matter who is in there?

He ran well tonight and ran with a purpose. He definitely gave his case to get to dress when the others are healthy and get some carries for sure. I think when everyone is healthy the last "hat" should come down to him and Batch...and while Batch has done some good and is a good 3rd down back...Dwyer blew him away tonight for sure.

I think we can finally put an end to the Redman as a starter stuff. Mendy healthy and a good game vs. The Eagles now Dwyer vs. Bengals. Redman is headed back to the bench. I hate to say this, but I wish the Steelers would cut Red just so PWP could find somebody else to stalk.
