Now you're just making up a story and attaching it to me rather than actually trying to understand what I'm posting. Based on what we know, there is no but. He did not deserve to be punched. That does not mean he did nothing stupid that night. I'm not sure why you are having such trouble understanding how both things can be true.

Your hypothetical is irrelevant. We do know some of what happened that night. That she is the reason it came to our attention is irrelevant.

 

Haskins' maturity issues are rearing their ugly head again..... The fact the he and his wife were renewing their vows after only 4 months of marriage should tell the whole story....
With the news of his gifting this istagram chick 20k, (who btw isn't fit to hold his wife's bra strap) I can understand her frustration, although, I can't condone her reaction...... Haskins needs to get his head on straight, because I'm sure that he's done more for others ..... This isn't some random situation

 

It shouldn't be a problem, but that really throws up a big flag, doesn't it? I mean, take a dozen random couples and if 3 of them decide to renew their wedding vows after 4 months of marriage, you'd probably raise an eyebrow. But you'd shrug your shoulders and figure there had to be some logical explanation, right? Maybe they eloped and didn't get hitched the way they wanted, so they decided to make it more public. Maybe it was a shotgun wedding and they realized they really loved each other. I don't know. There's always a reason, right? But the way this went down, and with his rocky, public history since joining the NFL, we were already looking at him sideways.

I respect your opinion on this. So I'm not asking this question to argue for or against a side here...but I've already made it clear that I'm looking at this from a daughter's father's perspective. But what do you think her father is thinking right now? Do you think he's agreeing with you? Or do you think he's thinking that she should have knocked out more teeth?

 

What I've been saying all along is that this is part of his pattern of making poor decisions. It can be that without him being partially to blame for her punching him. I have more than once stated that, from what we know about his behavior, nothing he did justified the assault.

 

I think this is the post that is confusing to you, @Blast Furnace. This does not mean being assaulted was his fault. This means he showed poor judgment, but not that the assault is somehow justified. It wasn't. This isn't me changing my mind. This is you not understanding my post.

That is perfectly understandable. People misread posts all the time.

The Instagram model story is puzzling because I don't have enough information. Arthur Moats on The Fan this afternoon was defending Haskins asking for the money back, as if he had knowledge that Haskins and this Vanessa Chantal had some sort of a relationship. I'd be a little more understanding about it if I knew for sure he did have a relationship with her before he met his wife, or started dating his wife. Basically, Moats' take was that how many times have men and woman asked for expensive gifts back after they break up? Fair enough. The others on the show countered with, well if Haskins was smart with his money, he should still be worth millions, the implication being to let sleeping dogs lie. To which Moats responded, "I have millions but, if it was me, $20K is $20K." I can't help but wonder if the model and the incident in LV are intertwined. So, on the one hand I kind of get him asking for the money back. If he was messing with this woman behind his wife's back, then he deserves to lose the gifts and just comes off looking foolish.

 

he is draped in a red flag, I read an article this morning that he will make the roster, really? Punched in the face by his wife who he renewed his vows with in Vegas 5 months after getting married (who does this? anyone?),

so he makes the team and by week six we are not talking football but we are talking about the drama between Haskins and his wife... and....

This has to end, it's probably not going to be pretty
