If the Steelers really did have interest in Fletcher Cox, this is more telling for Tuitt not coming back as it has been already known that Alualu was going to be out for the season since his injury a while back. Given the fact there is still no official update on Tuitt, it could be safe to assume he is likely done for the season; doubly so since the Defense is thin at said position as it stands. Cox likely would have been a solid depth piece for rotation if anything else.

Regardless, I am happy Colbert did not pull off that trade. That cap hit is just..... ouch.

Been saying it since training camp, this Tuitt situation stinks. He will not be back this season.

Isn't Cox more of a DT type, than a DE?

They wouldn't play him in an NT role where he only gets 40% of the snaps. He's a one-gapper, I'm guessing the asking price was too high.

Reportedly a 3rd pick just to start negotiations

I'm glad they didn't give up a 3rd for him, he's on the downside of his career, they need those two third round picks in 2022 because they don't have a fourth round pick.
