I really really hope that Tuitt is not done and can return to this game and team at an incredible level but I do worry that he has had a depression of mentality from that tragic loss. He was so great in 2020 and to see his participation recede is very concerning. Whether it be physical mental or both I wish him the best of my thoughts.

There’s nothing in Butlers comments to suggest his issues are mental or anything though. I don’t get why people can’t take “lingering knee injury” as, well, a lingering knee injury.

Not buying it sorry just not buying it. All the mystery in the beginning of camp nobody knew where he was or what was going on now it’s a season long knee injury out of nowhere?? Where there is smoke there is fire boys. This situation stinks. And of course if it is mental health best of luck to him and hopefully he can move on as that is no joke.

Yeah that is the strange thing to me as well. What type of knee injury? If it required a scope just to clean out the joint and remove scar tissue it should have been done months ago. Is it a tear or a sprain? At this point you'd think if it wasn't season threatening they would numb him up, slap a brace on it, tape it to China and back and start working off the pudge.

That's why I'd lean towards the mental and emotional toll than a physical one being at the heart of this. Maybe he just isn't ready to play.

And the Steelers had no interest in re-signing him, and I'm sure he was ready to move on.

They won't take that long to assemble the rest of the team, they won't be paying a franchise QB or a LT, TE, RB.

So Tuitt was wearing a knee brace even though he doesn't have a knee injury ?

Lots of injuries come “out of nowhere”. Players blow out knees and achillies tendons in practice all the time. Ben’s elbow was also “out of nowhere”, it happens. He also had surgery, so that explains the recent absence.

We can argue back and forth all we want and to Glenn’s point nobody besides him and possibly the coaches really know what’s going on. Bottom line is we need the guy and he’s not around to help so that much is fact. Constantly injured and looking like a complete wasted season one way or another. Time to move on as he can’t be counted on.

Reminds me of how that bum coach in New England use to make cast offs so much better.

Arizona will feel the loss of Watt.

He only missed significant playing time in 2019. Agreed he hasn’t had many full seasons, but missing 2 games in a season isn’t constantly injured. Guys get injured in the NFL.

I wonder how many people singing Conners praise now were also calling for his head last year.

He is getting goal line work, thats why he is getting TD’s. He is doing nothing to get him down there, 5 carries for 22 yards last night.

Steelers weren’t going to draft Najee just to take him off the field at the goal line and why would they?

Steelers made the right call moving on from Conner.

Could have kept him and drafted a mid-round back again while strengthening more important positions, but I feel I'm not changing minds on that one.

Keep an injury prone RB that wasn’t getting the job done and draft another mid rd back? Nope, definitely not changing my mind with that argument!

I would have liked Stevenson in the mid rds but it was time to move on from Conner. Stevenson isn’t doing a whole lot up in NE.

The only argument to be made against Najee in the first is longevity but it’s not written in stone that he will be done after 5 years.

Fine, then draft a mid-round and sign a free agent. I'd bring a ton of RBs to camp every year, turn over the group every year if necessary.

Just will never like the feature back/work horse model, too many eggs in one basket.

    I always liked Him.
My problem was He was often injured. Which is a problem, but I was never the guy 2 say He had no talent. Wish Him success...Just not ever against Us.

I think last night's game covered both 3nds of the spectrum. On the Cardinals side you saw what depth could give you. Conner was fresh for goal line work. Ertz seemed to be settling in and the defense was solid without Watt. The Packers by contrast had garbage at WR other than Cobb and the rate they were losing TE's was concerning. I am sure Rodgers wished he had a FB to grade the road on some of those red zone trys.
