He did to me last game, maybe he is still hurting?
But what I am really getting at is, the young man is
going to have to have an impact in our special teams
play. This is very important, because AB has just to much
importance to our OFFENSE and we can't (as you have
seen in these past two games) expect him to continue
his work load on special teams, even though he thrives at it.
Cmon Chris, time to put on the big boy pants.

If he is so gunshy than stay in the end zone and start at the 20. Instead he brought it out to the 12. We needed 3 more points for overtime, a few yards here and there could have put us in position.

i'm surprised he hasn't been used as a receiver more. he played alot at Fl and it's a better match up size wise for him. Maaybe this week he'll get some time with Cotch hurting.

Rainey can be a real threat, he might but at little gun shy. But he is smaller, he can't take needless big hits or he will be out of the game. I'm thinking the last two games he has played hurt, which doesn't help, once he is healthy again, I'm sure we will see some big plays, he has speed.

I agree that he could be a big help. But I think he is still hurting and gun shy. This is another case that the coaches should see this and he should not be playing, similar to Leftwich last week. Also noted the he was a receiver for one or two plays last week and when a pass was thrown to him he short armed so as not to try to catch it and get hit.

Coaches please keep him out until he is ready to go full speed!!

Yes, he is young, and we need a new special teams coach. The guy we promoted during the pre-season wasn't the answer.

He hasn't seemed to be the same since he took the shot to the ribs earlier this year.

Guys... Some guys have bad games once in a while. Especially rookie 5th round picks. Chill out.

Yall are killing me with this "oh,he was a 4th rd pick or 5th rd pick".These guys are steelers. We don't give excuses and we are expected to perform. The next man up! We need for players to step up when a starter get hurt or cant go.This is what seperate us from the other teams...this is our mentality. Now Rainey, was injured and probably came back too soon, but lets not be like the fans of these other teams.

Rainey doesn't have the extra gear to run away from NFL caliber players.... he lit up scrubs in preseason, but he can't get the edge off a run play in the NFL...

Amen Brother, If you were given great gifts what does it matter what
round you were drafted in? LOL it make me wonder. Can you play or not play?
Folks it really that simple. People make football alot harder than what it is.
Rainey has God given ability to run away from almost every player in the league.
Lets see him use these(must have a little blocking)skills. If you play afraid I will
    eat your lunch every time.

I do think he is being a bit tentative at times. He has the acceleration and speed that rivals any return man in the league. Now we have to keep reminding ourselves that he is just a rookie and has been doing a pretty good job overall. But I would like to see him come out full speed, pick a lane, and go for it.

Anyone watch the Florida-Florida St game yesterday? I believe it was Gillislee for the Gators bringing a ball out. He went top speed and didn't even think about slowing down. Now he hot blown up with an absolute vicious hit, but this is the type of mindset I would like to see from Rainey. This isn't college anymore, You can go east-west and dance around and think you are going to outrun everybody.

True it isn't college anymore. Rainey is running against the very best players at their position vice, college when he was usually the best player, or one of the best players on the FIELD. You can't take those kinds of hits long in the NFL. That's when it is truly the Not For Long league
