    How was he on special teams? I think that is where some of these guys need to make a name for themselves. Ross Vetrone made a living off being the special teams demon, these guys start emulating that and they make themselves very hard to cut

    Heh, whoops. Fixed it.

    They also had him listed as a WR and TE, but I thought that was just plain excessive.

    Maybe not......

    He plays better as a safety but with Jordan making it that hurts his chances.

    I don't think Gilbert counts on our 53 roster yet and when he does the corresponding totes move would be IR Golson....

    Cutting Grant surprised me...

    Dirty Red reminds me of Brian Hinkle for those of you old enough to remember.

    Low on talent, high on heart.....Hinkle started here for a few years..


    I got the privilege of talking to him 1 on 1 after he retired.....this was the best part of everything he ever said to me. Keep in mind he had just retired after being cut.

    "I got calls from 10 teams, some wanting me to come start, some just to be a special teams guy.....but all I ever wanted to be was a Pittsburgh Steeler, and I got to do that. I couldn't imagine ever putting on another uniform."


    I think Red's ceiling is Hinkle...and thats not a bad thing at all

    The only surprise really to me is Steven Johnson, the media was saying the Steelers usually don't cut the free agents they just signed
