i wish that you could get the ticket on a week to week basis. whether its a good thing or bad the Steelers seem to be on national tv 70% of the time. which makes paying $200 plus for the entire season a bit rough. if i was a Browns, Bucs fan or some other team that was only on nation tv once it would be great, but to pay for 3 or 4 games is a bit much and yes i do have the ticket. cant miss those 3 or 4 games that arent on nation tv.

i was going to sports bars for about 15 years and that gets old. you usually cant hear the game and theres always a few jack-offs there.

You may one day get your wish. I took a survey for Direct TV and the NFL Sunday Ticket a couple years ago and the entire survey was pretty much about what you speak of...A la carte football games. They asked questions such as would you be willing to pay a lesser annual price for just one specific team (Steelers of course) and then multiple choice of what you would be willing to pay...ie $75, $100, $125 or $150...or if you would be willing to pay a fee for just one week of NFL Sunday ticket (all teams available just as it is now...except just one week) and if so what is the highest price you would be willing to pay...$25, $30, $35 or $40? Or if you would be willing to pay a certain price for just one game and if so, what would you be willing to pay for that game...ie $10, $15, $20 or $25.

Who knows if it will ever happen...but with a lot of football on national TV now on Thursdays, Sundays, Mondays ...I feel they are going to have to do something. I live in Va so I get Redskins and Ravens locally, but looking at the schedule this year, I would guess at least half of the Steelers games will be available to me without having the Sunday Ticket. If I could pay $15 each game for the remaining 8 games not nationally televised...I could get all the Steeler games for $120 as opposed to the $300 I pay now. I do love me some Redzone channel though...and Im sure if they went the A la carte route...it would be at least $100 for the redzone channel alone.

Heh, as I've said before. 2 AM and 5 AM games for me if I want to watch it live. (Who doesn't want to watch live these days?)

If I'm lucky I have nothing to do at work for the late games and I can slip out.

Hell the beauty in that is you'd not likely be wanting all 8 anyway. You may decide to go over someone's house or to a bar for a couple or you may be out of town. Definitely cheaper.

Just got off the phone with DTV...got free Sunday Ticket Max, Free Genie Upgrade....Been happy with them....just as happy during the year...and twice as happy during the season.....I used to get almost every Steeler game...as I live about as close to Pitt as I do to Cleveland...then the FCC stepped in and decided my area was officially a Cleveland affiliate...so they dropped the station that always carried my game.......

Long story short...since I lost my local Pitt game....I have gotten the ticket 4 out of 5 years for $0.00

I can live with that ratio

I feel you on that whole thing about having to follow them from a distance TommyBoy. I used to just get to keep up with the Steelers from espn or if I was lucky enough to get a game on tv around here in Peyton Manning country. We didn't even have high speed internet here until 2007 and I didn't get NFL Network until 2005. But now with all these great bells and whistles you can take your fandom to a whole new level. I remember trying to get a dial up signal and it's all horrible memories I would rather not discuss. LOL.

Yep! I think it's gonna be funny when Ben is like "DADDY! The internet is taking like 3 seconds to load a website! Call Comcast!" and I will be like "Son I can remember when it took MINUTES!" LOL. It will be like my generations "Son when I was your age we walked to school barefooted and uphill both ways in a blinding blizzard and hopped on one foot to keep the other foot warm and used Sears-Roebucks catalog's and corncobs for toilet paper!" When people tell me I don't know what it means to be impoverished I will be like "HUH! I had dial up!" LOL.
