Somebody brought up on another thread that Johnson doesn't do a good job when plays break down. He runs great routes, but once he has done that, he doesn't work enough get open. He just gives up on too many plays.

I will say this - he played a STUD game, 2nd half vs. the Bills in Jan - he was BALLING. They could not stop him and Rudolph. the 2 of them marched up and down the field for 3 straight possessions and BUFF had no answers.

I'd like to see that DJ heart week in and week out, but he has huge lapses - for weeks at a time and still has too many drops and still acts like a child way too much.

that is why they need to get something (GOOD) for him - IF there is a buyer.

If not, he will play his last year here - is my guess. Or - a last minute, end of camp 'fair value' extension contract.

I think they end up keeping him simply because I don't think they would get fair value in a trade. They would have to get at least a second-round pick for it to be worthwhile.

probably. but I think they can get a 2nd rounder for him.

and if we really SUCK this year, he becomes trade deadline bait.

We will all have to ...... wait and see.

I think it is even less likely a team trades for just part of a season from him.

In the context of your post. Belichick, "never had...."

disagree - he is talented in many regards. KC needs a WR, for example. Mahomes would LOVE him.

Buff may be in bind, with a mid-season injury, Allen would LOVE him.

desperate times require desperate measures. We will see how it all plays out - both pre-season and in season.

to let him play in 2024 and 'expire' is a waste, as I have stated.

I'm very ok with this plan. Mike Evans is not only a stud performer but a professional that's won a championship. He's someone Pickens and the younger guys can look to and see how a pro acts.

Yes he's older, but look at him and his career the man is going to make plays

Winning and having Tom Brady buying into your culture cures all. That all went away as soon as Brady left.

Yeah, I was hoping the Steelers could land him but they never would have paid him that.
