0 TDs is rough. 17 games. That's not good.
But, in 21 and 20 he had 8 and 7 respectively, that is #1 WR production! Even the rookie year with 5 TDs.

So if I’m getting this right you are saying he used to be a #1 WR

Different Qbs throwing Him the ball.
Qbs make 97% of their weapons.
Look no farther then this SB winning Qb Pat Mahomes.
They got rid of His #1 Wr, and He just won a SB with other teams cast-offs, and threw 3 tds doing it.

Once the ball is in your hands it doesn’t matter who threw it to you

If you can’t score a TD you ain’t none not no number one

DJ and Pickett definitely weren’t on the same page. They should be spending every waking minutes this offseason working together but DJ won’t do that, he works with Route God every offseason.

He still needs to do something with the ball after he catches it

At that point it is literally out of Pickett’s hands

Agreed but did any of them really do anything with YAC? The only one off the top of my head that I can recall having open field in front of him was Warren.

Every time DJ and others get the ball they are immediately surrounded.

They need better schemes. I believe that is why DJ was running backwards, trying to make something out of nothing.

DJ is similar to Julian Edelman. Very good WR, maybe he’s our number 1, but not elite. I doubt he can be the number 1 receiver on most teams

He's alot better than Edelman. Edelman couldn't play outside.

He hadn’t gotten a new contract

This is a good example of why money should not be guaranteed

Well he had 86 receptions almost the same as 2020

So obviously you can’t blame it on the change of quarterback

    It’s all on Johnson

Yeah....I'm sorry I have to agree....You can blame some on the Qb. You do understand just because a ball is caught.....doesn't make it a great throw, a timely throw, or a well placed throw.
Now I'm not putting anything on the rookie.....He was a rookie, and some is DJs fault, but Qbs have a lot to do with it.....there is a reason DJ was so upset (whether He punched Him ,or not) with Trubisky.
He didn't have 5 tds with Mason, and Duck, then 15 Tds with Ben, and all of a sudden 0 tds with Trubisky, and the Rookie KFP for no reason.

    IDK

George Pickens was able to score 4 touchdowns with the same quarterbacks on 5/8 of the throws

He didn’t score a single touchdown from Ben

Diontae is fine but he can be upgraded. He would not even be top 5 of the WRs we have had here since 2010. Brown, Wallace, JuJu, Martavis, Pickens. I would take all of them over DJ. He is great at separation and that is it. He is not a YAC machine type of receiver. He is not a turn a 50/50 ball into a 80/20 ball receiver. He is not a fastest guy on the field receiver. Good route running can only take you so far, especially when the passing game is designed to be so hilariously short combined with minimal YAC ability. He might actually do better somewhere else.

I would trade him for a pick if it guaranteed getting Addison this year. Even if he was only as good as DJ it would be worth it just for more salary control and youth.

This is news to me and one of the best things I have seen in a month.

Meh idk about that. Edelman was good in his own right. He wasn't great or anything special but he fit that system perfectly.

Didn't have a coach over 40 yards when he had one over 50 the previous year. Also had under 1000 yards. Previous had over 1000 and yr before last was nearly at 1000 yards. We have far more evidence of him scoring tds in treason then ones we don't and the major change was the qb. Don't think it's Johnson who's the problem. Pickett was barely throwing 1 td a game. That's not on johnson.
