    It was maybe asking too much to see this guy incorporated into the offense anyway. A shame to see him go out injured, though.

    Beats me. I don't think they have a limited number of IR spots so not sure why they wouldn't do that. I wouldn't want to rely on a kicker coming off a torn ACL who hasn't kicked all year coming in for the playoffs. Just IR the dude and roll with Plan B.

    According to a post on his Instagram, it was in fact an injury of some kind.

    "Injuries are apart of the game! As an athlete I signed up knowing injuries are a possibility and I can find comfort in knowing who I am outside of a football player!     I didn't have one shred of hope that Gardner would do anything with this team. Even if he was good enough, they have enough of a challenge getting Archer involved.
