Didn't hear him say that, but it wouldn't surprise me. He's not going to throw Tomlin under the bus even if a lot of the same problems preceded Haley. Tomlin is highly regarded among the media. And he is a charismatic guy. Haley, well, he's not so respected.

(Deserved or not, Deion has had a beef with Haley for years to my recall)

Yep, heard it on the NFL network. He didn't really get into it much more than what that quote says. It was a quick comment during the Steelers highlights and that was about it

Arians was always a great X and O guy...I just felt he was not good at playcalling during the course of a game.

I wanted BA gone only because I didn't want him calling plays on gameday...not because I didnt like his chalkboard skills.

the avg HS OC could have called a better series of plays than TH did when we had it on the 4 yard line and he kept throwing it one yard with 1:55 to go .. throw it into the EZ.. eitehr its a TD or INC or INT... but you wont throw it 1 yard to the 3 and mayeb get tackled on the 2 and keep the clock runing.. someone tell TH its nto illegal to throw it into the EZ .. worst play calling i ever seen.. EVER

No Heath was a KILLER there! That's where he would have been calling Heath's number all day long I think.

when we had 3rd and two and ben dropped back to pass and got sacked, I had to ask myself , self why would we call a pass play that took more then a three step drop in that situation? this type of situational play calling is what we didn't like about BA ball. I think it does have something to do with BA summer, we are doing the same types of things that we didn't like then. have we improved anything?

the endzone was crowded and we didn't have a big target so maybe he thought we can slip in after the catch with our small fast guys

No, we haven't improved at all. If anything we've actually regressed. We can't even run a proper bubble screen anymore.

I don't know...I would believe what Sanders said more if Tomlin was a great X's and O's but--but clearly he is not. Not sure how much of the team buys into him. It's tuff in pro sports to get these dudes to buy in. I think in the NFL there are a select few--Belichick. As much as i dislike the Pats, Belichick built that team. He has their ear at all times. He's god in that organization...this includes ownership, not just the locker room.

Tomlin has a bunch of guys around, still, that weren't his guys. I don't think he's proven that his team is truly his team. How can it be when he continues to count on guys he inherited to deliver wins/lead. I think holding on to players has hurt him in more than one way. obviously the cap situation. But if Tomlin had control, he should have gutted the team after the loss to GB. Got rid of some high priced players and re-built while you still had a relatively young franchise QB. This is of curse all 20/20 hindsight. So now we'll be terrible and waist the last few years of Ben's prime...likely acquire talent slowly. And about the time the team is rebuild...we'll have Tommy Maddox at QB again. GO BURGH!

My problem today, as it is game in game out season in or season out, every year... Is, if we have an next man up mentality then friggin do it!

maybe moye and or Wheaton would've made a difference, maybe not... But if big money crew are dropping balls/or not able to simply make the play that a faster or taller individual can, what have you got to lose... The game? Well it'd be nice to lose with different ingredients for once!

I guess we'll see what Ilb offers next week and as far as the line goes, I'm ready to see whimper produce the same results at tackle just for something different! I know it don't always give us the best chance to win, but maybe... JUST MAYBE, it would put fools on notice and sometimes that's a better motivator than coach talk!

lastly, Beauchamp filling in wasn't the end of the world, just wish maybe he could've filled in at LT preferably

As high as Ben was throwing it all day Moye would have had a killer game today. LOL.

Tomlin won one Super Bowl and then reached another with mostly Cowher's players. Most of those guys were not only coached by, but tutored by Cowher. He gave them a mindset. He set them in a direction. When Tomlin came in, whatever his approach was, it worked at that time. It was Cowher's pre-set discipline with Tomlin's personality. How many times have we seen it before? (Bylsma taking over Therrien's team? Hmmm? How's Bylsma looking now? He's Tomlin 2.0.) Now, here we are, several years later, most of Cowher's guys are gone, and we have a roster full of Tomlin-drafted-and-tutored players. And look at the results.

I will be pleased if the Rooneys let Tomlin go after the season. And, sadly, I think they will be put in a position to have to make that tough decision. If today's game is any indication, this will be the Steelers' first double-digit loss season in ten years.

or RT. gilbert was gawd aweful too.

I have been trying to think of what we should do as it stands now. i'm not sure I like the thought of beachum playing center. i'd rather we bring Wallace in for that, move beachum to LT, move adams to RT, cut whimper and put gilbert as the swing man, or bring long back off the PS. then we need another G/C type guy brought in.

next, i'm real leary now about pouncey being in his contract year next year. do we see if he's capable first or throw a big contract at him and be stuck with a player that isn't up to snuff and can't afford to get rid of him. here's a guy with bad ankles already and now has a bad knee. these things will limit his mobility that we love about him but also his ability to stand his ground to the extent he used to.

I'm not a huge Tomlin fan, but I like the guy a lot. That seems to bet the get down in Pittsburgh though. We'll *****, whine and moan... And forgive when something good comes to be.

im also not a Tomlin basher, as it is of to date, Bill Cowher's teams ruined more Sundays than has Mike's. you can say Bill never had a QB all you want, Bill didn't let the next best thing put anything away when he could've.

Different coaches, different philosophies... Headaches, heartaches, mind blowing meltdowns all over each time. I am a true believer that us as fans have been spoiled rotten over the decades. But I really think, that the Rooneys have a little bit more to do with what goes on than any coach... Routine Is routine and that hasn't changed! The only change has been the talent pool in different generations. We've been fortunate for sure, but Mike ain't no different than the Noll, or Cowher as far as fielding the same results (unless you count S.B's) other than Noll having the better stud unit in completeness
