I was thinking about him when they were winning. He deserves a ring. He's a Jerome Bettis type of guy

I hope the Omaha screaming Forehead goes down in flames which I believe will happen.

I wouldn't say they never appreciated him.

Personally, I hate funerals and avoid them at all costs if I can.

Being that the article is 11 months old, I'm not really sure what the point is other than to try and sling mud towards a former team with a spot light now on them.

You may hate them, but someone, anyone from that organization HAS to go.
From the owner to the GM to the HC to the OC to the position coach to the freaking receptionist at the front desk....send SOMEONE!

That article is from February 2015. It's not like it was just released to sling mud.

I'd be kinda upset with the Steelers org. if no one showed up to support a former first rounder if his Mom just passed.

Sorry, re-reading my response and I need to elaborate. I think the OP found that article and is posting it there as back-up to his sentiment that there are some gaps between Williams and the Panthers.

Not trying to be a jerk but the way you state that he is a former first rounder makes it sound as though the same standards wouldn't apply if he were a 7th round pick or a UDFA or even a punter. Also, if it's not meant to sling mud then why even revisit the tragic topic several months later?

Did CBS re-post the article or did Realsteel find it on an internet search? I think its the latter, because I didn't see it on the CBS site when I looked.

And I agree, the round if any, doesn't matter. I was emphasizing the fact that no one from Carolina seemed interested.

I don't think it matters when it was posted or re-posted. The point is that DeAngelo seems like a genuinely good guy. I think if this would've happened to any of those other guys, DeAngelo would've been there. Like BobbyBiz said up there:: SOMEONE from the organization & some of the players should've been there. It's common decency.
I'm so glad DeAngelo is here now & I REALLY hope we can get him a ring.
I also REALLY hope Peyton puts his crawfish shorts on (under his uniform of course) & beats the Panthers.
