Just saw a tweet about this Tomlin said it was minor.

    edited to includeTomlin's statement.

"Earlier today, Cortez had minor surgery on his right knee. We wanted him to get the surgery done now so he can begin rehabilitating immediately. This surgery was a minor procedure and will have no long-term effects on his return to the field. We look forward to his rehabilitation process and having him back on the field in a couple of weeks."

This is horrible news. Is this something that stems from him leaving the field at camp or is this something that has been festering? If this is something that has been ongoing I'm gonna be pretty furious. I'm sick of our guys procrastinating on crap like this. If you have a problem stop trying to be a "tough guy" and just get it fixed. We don't have the depth at cb for him to be screwing around with this crap. Isn't this exactly what James Harrison done with his knee? Man this is irritating. How much has he participated in camp? Just the first day?

Hey, no one knows for sure if Cortez would have beaten out Gay! :sorry:

Anyway, this definitely sucks because Cortez is good, but still has some developing to do and could have used a preseason... but he'll be ready for the opener.

I hope by "ready" you mean ready as in he will know what to do instead of "ready" as in he can technically be out there but not really ready because if it's the latter I think I'm gonna go jump off the barn.

Sans injury I believe the O Line will be fine. The corner situation is another matter. Hopefully Allen gets back soon and doesn't have any setbacks. Gay? He is not starting material. We have seen this before. And with reports from camp stating Curtis Brown is struggling the weakness again lies at the feet of the corner position. Although gone, the contract that Keenan Lewis got was not a backbreaker. Just could not afford him because of cap issues. Still burned about this, but, you ride in with the players you have.

Good note is that reports are Troy looks back to form. Here is to an injury free season for him.
