Do you think Cortez Allen gets the chance to be a starting corner next year. I think they try to resign Keenan Lewis, but with Cortez Allen playing pretty good the last few games of the year, he seems to have a knack for causing turnovers, forced a few fumbles and a few INT's. Do you think Ike Taylor is expandable because of his age?

Your Tomlin and Colbert, what do you do?

First priority of the offseason is to get Lewis locked up for 3-4 years. Allen and Lewis have both progressed fairly well;however, Ike is still our #1.

I'm honestly not happy with any of our corners because I favor more of a shutdown corner with ball skills. Maybe Allen has some ball skills but I don't see him as being able to run with any WR in the league. I do like Allen better than Lewis just for the simple fact that he does have some ball skills whereas it appears Lewis has worse hands than Ike. I don't think Allen will beat out Lewis or Ike though.

Shut down corners are hard to come by and don't fit our system anyway and sounds like DL is coming back so not like that will change. I was actually very pleased with what I saw from the new guys out there, think the secondary is shaping up nice.

Yeah as long as we are playing so far off the receivers I'm not gonna be happy with our corners. I just wish we had a ballhawk back there wreaking havoc. When Hasslebeck carved us up this year he did it at the expense of Ike and Lewis. When Romo done it it was at the expense of Victorian. I know that he was from the practice squad but the lack of depth is apparent. That's why I wish just as a sorta dream scenario that we could get a true shutdown guy. Or at LEAST a guy with some genuine ball skills.

I was very happy with the play of Cortez Allen and I believe he could develop into something special. He does have some ball skills and playmaking ability and he also seems to be a smart and disciplined player. He was individually responsible for 5 turnovers the last two games! Let that sink in a little. One of our complaints most of the season was that our defense was not creating enough turnovers. He showed flashes last year and stepped it up a notch this year. I am excited to see what 2013 holds for Allen.

Hope we keep all three. We need three corners. Now we need a saftey and we will be set in the secondary for a few years.

I could live with Taylor, Lewis and Allen as our top 3. The problem is with the pass rush.

what i liked about Allen is he seems to be a ball hawk. the defense started creating more turnovers once he was playing.

I'd respond but when you make a statement which implies trying to improve the team people just go to hell in a handbag and start popping off? IMO and its just that our DBs seem to be on the up and up and were a bright spot the last 8 weeks. Sign Lewis which they will, and everyone else and see what happens. In this draft other than a top tier safety I'd stay away from our backfield.

I think Cortez Allen has progressed so much, and I believe that's exactly what they were looking for when they drafted him. They're grooming him to be in the Steelers System. Remember, he was from The Citadel...not a big football school by ANY means. Only a handful of players ever came from there...but they saw his raw talent and are using it.

Yes- I think they fully intend on Cortez Allen being a starter, especially with Ike's age.

l totally agree with this poster. my father calls me during the games and always points out, the fact that our dlinemen stand there and just hand slap all day long. nobody has any technique on our dline. put pressure up front and our corners really look stellar.

I think our d-line is becoming an area of MAJOR concern at this point. We've invested 2 first round draft picks in the d-line in the last 4 years and so far both Ziggy Hood and Cam Heyward have been underwhelming.

I agree if these guys are our top three cornerbacks we will be alright. We need some youth at safety Clark can't cover and Troy is injury prone. The pass rush isn't good enough.

I was very pleased with Cortez Allen and Keenan Lewis,
I think if Curtis Brown improves we will be in good shape at the CB
position. You can never have enough good CB's in this league.
Depending on circumstances, I am in favor of moving Ike taylor
to the safety position in the immediate future and drafting a safety
this year high in the draft possibly our first round pick.

IIRC Allen played safety when Troy was out, correct? That was after they benched Mundy of course!

I was pleasently suprised about the late devolpment of Allen this year. I hope we resign Lewis and Allen for the right price. Those two with a healthy Ike should help us alot next year.

I read today that Lewis wants to "test" the market so we'll see. I am comfortable that Allen can step into a starting role next season. Remarkably, he was single handedly responsible for 25% of the total Steelers turnover number in his last TWO GAMES! Can you say PLAYMAKER??

He's an IDIOT. Last year he had not earned it. Didn't him and Wallace grow up together? Sounds like his diva pal may be rubbing off on him.

Wallace and him go way back but think about the deal we could have gotten last year.
