Conspiracy theory: Can Bell be drug tested before he signs?

There is literally nothing they can do other than rescind the tag (which would do nothing for the Steelers other than free up money they don't currently have a use for and it would cost them any compensatory pick). The ball is in Bell's court. He either shows up or doesn't. The Steelers really can't do anything about it now.

 

Holding the same standard would have been cutting him loose at the time of the second drug suspension, e.g. my Santonio Holmes reference.

 

I just heard on the fan 93.7 that he can only be tested if and when he signs ,so maybe

Holmes had other instances. Allegedly, throwing a glass at someone, telling a fan on Twitter to 'go kill themselves.' .. stuff like that.

 

The Twatter is what put the end to that peckerhead.

 

Yup, that's why I stated after Bell's second drug suspension, not his first one. Anyone can atone for one mistake, and most should be given the chance (depending on the severity of the mistake).

 

I don't think they can be tested without a contract... That's why it wouldn't surprise me if he gets one soon there after

 

I wonder if that’s part of the standard physical which Bell will be required to take?
