I get your point but given our needs, it is kind of a wasted pick. If he were to play it would be a lost season and I also don't think the organization is ready to admit they made a mistake with Landry Jones, too early for that. Too many holes on this team to draft a glorified clipboard holder two years in a row.

 No, too many holes on defense they already have one QB who won't play for another five years in Jones.

thats why i tried to make it as clear as possible... whats amazing is between the steelers and ravens we got 7 of 32 total picks.. almost 25% ... 1/4th of all the picks went to 2 teams... thats amazing .. lets just hope we use them wisely and its not another 2009 draft..

You need to think outside the box a little. I don't know if you just don't know much about Mettenberger or just too much tunnel vision but you mean to tell me that getting a first round talent in the 6th round is an out of the question proposition for you? You could very well be talking about a franchise QB.

I seen Mettenberger play so what he had one good year that was in 2013, after LSU brought in Cam Cameron as OC. Mettenberger was average in 2012 he has no mobility and he's coming off a torn ACL, he has a strong arm though.

Torn ACL. Before that, he was regarded as a 1st round pick. Theres a post in the draft section about the Steelers reportedly being interested in him. Even with the ACL, don't know if he will drop till the 6th.

1-2 round talent is what I have seen. He can do it all, his biggest area of weakness is mobility but its not like he is Tom Brady back there. One of the knocks against Ben coming out was that he couldn't evade the rush, guess we know how that turned out :lolol:

I agree here. We definitely don't need another quarterback after we selected one last year. We have two many other needs to even consider it.

I think we will have 9 picks in the draft? I say we need to at least have 5 starters within two years.

Not your fault. Usually, the only way to tell if I'm serious or not is to already know ahead of time how I feel about something.

Just Interested in what 5 positions they need starters at? I know they have holes but I really don't feel its as bad as needing 5 new starters..I was more worried about the team last year than this year.

Last year they were thin, like they are now, but with a lot more unproven talent. Now that we saw the young guys from the last 3 drafts start to get seasoned I really see a good core starting to grow again. So this team is in no way VOID of talent.

I do agree absolutely that we still need more talent and (that's always the case) and there is room for new starters, but the steelers really aren't in that bad of a place at all. Every good team you look at has a core of great talent and then fill in starters at other positions that are serviceable and sometimes play above their usual ability and I really see the steelers right there. One more solid draft to add to what we have going on now is going to put them in a very good situation.

My biggest concern by FAR is injuries and depth.

If somehow this years steelers team can stay very healthy at least to the KEY players. I'd say I truly believe SB contenders. But that kind of health never happens so........WE NEED DEPTH

I think we need starters at LT, WR, CB, KR and G. I like Beachum but I don't think he's the long term answer. He could be though. We need someone opposite Brown. Wheaton might be but we will look at it again next year. Ike Taylor is gone after this year and we need a starter there. Brown will eventually get hurt returning punts. We need someone to take those duties from him. Ramon Foster has been adequate but I think we can upgrade the position.

Also keep in mind that we haven't solidified our inside linebacker position opposite Timmons. Williams might be the answer but so far only a two down player. We don't know what Sean Spence will bring. And a punter.

KR is a must, you cannot keep putting AB out there when he's your money man on offense. IMHO, I want to see a monster guy back there returning kicks. Someone 6'3" 230+, just to put the fear in those gunners coming in to try and lay a hit.
