We won't know if the players they have or players they will add will be able to replace the loss in production until the season begins. Other players will need to step up. The team found ways to score/win games in the past and I believe they will find ways to score/win games in the future.

speculation and wishful thinking is fine, but to make a case that wallace was just average, doesn't hold water to the fact they gave alot of money to brown to be our star wr. in his 3 years here he has scored 7 TD's. that's not even as many as wallace scored last year alone.

we kept dwyer and redman also. dwyer has scored 2 TD's in 3 years. redman has scored 7 TD's in 3 years. i'm just saying what we lost doesn't add up. i'm just not seeing where you all feel they are going to upgrade their production that much. that's a huge jump. heath being down just intensifies that.

Browns numbers were very close to Wallaces, I'm fairly confident Brown can replace Wallace as the number one, I've always felt he is a better all around receiver, here's his chance to prove it. There are good prospect in the draft to as you know, several really, I'd be happy with any number of them. If they use Plax in the redzone more, I'm sure he can make up some lost production. Not worried about Mendy in the slightest, FA or draft, his production will be replaced easily. All speculation at this point though, yours is a question better to be asked when they go to Latrobe, then we will have all the pieces in place. I hope no one is implying that this is the team that we will break camp with.

No way that's what they are doing, has to be Cortez, better be. And Plax won't be replacing Wallaces either, I'm sure Brown will slide into the #1 spot and well pick up another receiver in the draft. But as I said to Mac, you certainly don't think they are done do you?

But those equations are off. The question is, are (Mike Wallace + Keenan Lewis + Hobbled Deebo) greater than (Plaxico Burress + William Gay + Jason Worilds + $10-15 million of other players) ?

we don't have much money to play in the FA market though. i sure don't see rookies making this production up. brown couldn't produce 8TD's as the #2, i really don't see his production going up that much as a double teamed #1. dwyer and redman were given the reigns last year and didn't live up to expectations either. add heath > spaeth to your equations too. plax is 36, i don't see that much production coming from him again. i sure hope we don't lose sanders too.

That's the point. Wallace, Lewis, and Harrison would have cost a lot more than the three players you are comparing them to.
So they are better players, but you have to consider the other players that can be hired with the money that was saved.

nope not at all but i would like to know where the TD's will come from. so, far very little has been added and alot taken away. not to mention what is left has never produced that much scoring. we don't have the money to be adding all this production from free agency. there isn't alot of cash laying around, we started 14 mil. in the hole. there wasen't alot of money saved to use to retool.

we will field a team next year but i'm not seeing a contender in what we have, especially here in pittsburgh that seldom if ever relys on rookies. i see us in the red right now in TD scorers.
