Do you guys use championships as well as super bowls to attribute a teams success? I think they matter, but nobody agrees with me lol. Teams played for titles pre super bowl too lol.

    Packers 13
    Bears 9
    Giants 8
    Browns 8
    Steelers 6
    Skins 5
    Cowboys 5
    9ers 5
    Lions 4
    Colts 4

Nope super bowls. Some of those championships we're won with 6 teams in the league. Then you had two leagues that merged so do you count AFL championships. Hey I have some ABA trophies you want one? Lol

Depends on the fans themselves. Some fans do. Others do not.

For me, Super Bowls do. Holds a greater degree of importance.

The Championships before the modern day Super Bowl are nice, and good for them....but they do not hold the weight of the Super Bowl era. As was stated...there were 6 to 10 teams in many of those championship years...and the people playing were car salesman, taxi drivers, and dock workers in the off season.....not full time professional athletes. For reference...the 1st Super Bowl was in 67...in the 33 years leading up to that game....the Championship team would play against the college all stars....and the college all stars went 9-22-2 against the BEST TEAM the PRO LEAGUE had to offer (FYI that college all star game went on up through the Steelers 2nd Super Bowl...but the college kids never won again in the Super Bowl Era....came close a few times...but ended 9-31-2

I promise you no college team could beat a pro team in this day and age....Ok...Alabama or Ohio State might give the Browns a run..LOL....But no...The Browns would win that game.

So be proud your team has a nice history..and a few banners hanging up.....but until you got a Lombardi and a ring...you might as well be talking about your high school championship team

I've found that, essentially, the answer hinges on whether the person answering is a Green Bay fan or not.

LMAO! Yes... the Browns would wipe out Alabama. Only the best of the best make an NFL roster. Alabama is a damn good college team, but they don't have the speed and skill the Browns have. The speed of the game from NCAA to NFL is a major hurdle for a lot of pro rookies to overcome and adapt to.

Or Bears. My buddy is a Bears fan and I was ribbing him about how many rings we have and he was like "Yeah but we've got more championships than you..." I told him that was true but that championships couldn't compare to what it means to win the Super Bowl. There's a mystique and level of prestige attached to the Super Bowl that pretty much no other championship in any other sport can compare to. Basically, I'd say only an Olympic gold medal is the only thing more prestigious.

If you consider a team has to win a championship game to get to the superbowl, then we have won 8 championships and 6 superbowls, but it's all about how many superbowls have you won, not about some championship game played back in the 30s-40s- 50s that some team won, most fans werent even alive back then let alone remember who won a championship game....

I guess really it depends on the fans.. like Browns fans can say 8 championships. Bears with 9 etc.

Only team I really consider up there with steelers cowboys and niners is packers.

The ultimate goal is to win the Super Bowl. And I really don't care what Browns fans think since their organization is cuckoo for cocoa puffs.
