Jones on the left side and Moore on the right could eventually be a big upgrade over Moore on the left and Okorafor on the right. It isn't a waste at all if Jones plays up to his talent.

 

I just read where Herbig was a scratch for Monday's practice. Anyone know if he practiced on Tuesday?

Is he going to be one of those players to make the 53 man roster, only to be put immediately on IR to start the season?

I don't know what I will do if I see Kendrick Green running with the 2nd team again this week on Thursday. As Moats says, He is going to get somebody hurt if the Steelers continue to play him at center.

I hate this kind of $hit from media personalities. Is it so hard to understand that these guys are human? Taking unnecessary shots at players like this who are giving their best and seem to be good people is just lame. It would be different if Green were sexually assaulting massage therapists or beating up chicks at bars.... but he's just trying to make the team so he can keep living his dream as an NFL player.

I am not saying he shouldn't comment on Green's continued poor performance. It is fine to criticize bad play, but posting a dm is loser $hit. Green should know better than to DM a media personality anyways, but reposting that makes him look worse than Green for sending it to begin with.

 

Ricky Stromberg is currently listed 3rd Center on the Commanders’ depth chart. A pure Center out of Arkansas that I hope doesn’t make cuts and the Steelers can sign him to backup Mason Cole. Upside is he is an actual Center and anchored one of the best running OLs in college. Downside is he’s not a Pouncey level athlete.

we really don't need another project. i liked stromberg but this shows he's number 3 at least. we have that. we need a vet able to start and play if needed. these old guys may want one more payday and not have to deal with camp anymore. come in learn the system and be ready if needed. if not sit back and get paid for very little. knowledge may be their greatest value.

if he's their number 3 and hasn't started in the nfl, he kinda is. we also could use a guy that can play some guard as well for gameday backup. we need someone to play all 3 interior spots. hopefully that is herbig. spencer i would not kick to the PS either. work with that kid to become valuable to us possibly this season or even next. if we do make that transition from chuks he could come in handy.

it was also a weak field of centers. hassenauer played at bama didn't make him a starter in the nfl. not immediately anyway. that stuff is over hyped. players now days are far closer in many conferences than ever before. green played in the big 10. as a guy ranked that high and being he played against such competition, shouldn't he have made that team and have been close to a starter? instead he's being cut.

100% true. We do have backups. According to that article you posted, MT listed Herbig, Green, and rookie Anderson. That’s 3 backups.

 

The part with him referring to Green having been a starter in the league brings no comfort. He left out the bit about Green being an absolute disaster who should have been benched long before it finally happened.

 

What are you talking about? Herbig specifically says CENTER!!!!

Not if he needs to go in as the backup guard in week, nor if he needs to go in as the backup tackle in week 1, but specifically if he needs to go in as the backup center in Week 1, against San Francisco.
