CBS Sports: Edmunds on verge of big payday

If they can sign him to a contract suitable for an average safety, I would have no problem with it. I'm thinking the kind of second contract you usually see going to guys taken in the second or third round, which is where Edmunds should have been selected.

 

JJ watt and minkah Fitzpatrick are already gonna break the bank next off-season.... If Edmunds is gonna get a big payday, it's gonna be somewhere else

 

I think it's safe to say that it's more likely that Edmunds signs a slightly higher than strong safety average contract with another team than he is "on the verge of a big payday." I'm firmly of the opinion that he is as good as he's going to get and his only sin was being drafted way to high by Pittsburgh. Doesn't mean he's not a decent, serviceable player.
