I can’t name any Chiefs receivers. That’s not saying they don’t contribute. They just know their roles in the scheme

It's also his rookie season, could just be that he wasn't quite ready and played better once he got to develop a bit. McVey is certainly a better offensive mind than Fisher, but I wouldn't be sold that Goff was just bad his rookie year because of coaching. Rookie QB on a not great team is never a recipe for success.

The only thing that I can see that would elevate a QB's game is system fit. There are guys that played in a system that was not a fit for them, only to move on and play a lot better in a different system. Brees comes to mind. Alex Smith is another. I don't think that an OC or HC comes in and just magically turns a bad QB into a good one. I think that the people hoping Kenny just instantly becomes a viable QB because Canada isn't his OC anymore are going to be sorely disappointed. It will be HIGHLY unlikely his game improves vastly before the end of the season. Smith may put hm in a better position to succeed. He may throw a few more TD passes or score a few more PPG, but I think he will largely be the same player he's been the first 25 games of his career.

The Chiefs WR's are bad. You don't know who they are because they suck. Kadarius Toney drops everything, Skye Moore was a big disappointment. Justin Watson has been in the league 6 years and this is his first season with more than 15 catches.... They have a young guy Rashee Rice that has been the best of the bunch, so maybe he turns into something for them.

I think the Chiefs wrongfully assumed that they could line anyone up at WR as long as they had Mahomes. Patrick had his statistically worst season in his starting career this year in large part to having minimal weapons outside of Kelce. There is 0 chance they aren't in the WR market in the offseason.

I will give you Goff under Fisher. Goff was however pretty consistently good at Cal. He is accurate with a decent arm. He is big 6 ft 4 and can stand in the pocket. His one bad year seems an anomaly. With Pickett, it seems his one good year at Pitt was an anomaly.

If they add a WR or 2 in the next offseason by the draft or free agency, their offense will be fine once again!

I agree with you on Pickett but for Goff, he really needed a true offensive mind since if it would have been Fisher again as head coach in 2017, he would have been in pace for an all-time draft bust...Confidence matters for a player too and his confidence was destroyed after 2016.But for Pickett, my hope for him is very low, I would like the Steelers to at least try to find a good replacement in the offseason

You don't have to be the best team to win.....you just have to have the most points when the clock runs out. The Steelers have shown that many times over the last few years......lol

My confidence is low as well, but if the Steelers are hell bent on the status quo for 2024 it is what it is. It feels like the Canada situation. There were plenty of excuses, rookie QB, finally the right guy for his system, etc., but in the end he was just kept around too long. I hope we aren't doing the same with Pickett. The signs are there, we just keep holding onto any excuse we can hold onto to keep hope. I sincerely hope I am wrong.

Too bad they lost Tyreek. Comes down to economics as they have a lot of high dollar marquee names on the roster. Hell, just their top 4 players alone cost the Chiefs $125M a year. Add another $30M for Tyreek and that would be over $150M. That would be over 60% of their cap for 5 players. Nuts.

    He already is.

Bad enough the cheats got to 6 thanks to diva Wilson and the worst play call in Super Bowl history.

I don't want SF to win. Nor Dallas but they aren't a worry :lolol:

Deal with KC as a dynasty. Light years ahead of us. Better Coach, QB and Defense.

People seem to forget how much confidence plays in to a QB’s success or lack there of. Everyone was praying Rudolph after his three games last year but they forget how terrible he was a couple years ago. I am not saying KP will be the next Joe Montana but lets at least see what we have under a new coach and offensive system. The guy I actually wanted before we got Mitch was Baker Mayfield. I always liked him. He just has a confidence about him ... I know it can be border line cocky but I felt the Browns gave up on him way too soon. I do think one of Pickets issues is he is a perfectionist and the mandate it appears was do not turn the bal over, keep us in the game and if need be go down and drive at the end to win it. Number one if you aren’t going to let the QB sling it and play freely what kind of message are you sending to the QB? Your not showing confidence in them how are they gonna have confidence in themselves? I think the level of stress KP we under last year wether self inflicted or not was astronomical. Hopefully the new regime can minimize that and let the guy play freely. Stroud said that was the biggest thing with his QB coach that made a difference for him. He minimized his stress and gave him confidence. Between a poor scheme, poor play calling, poor line play and WR’s who’re non supportive ... I think it was too much to overcome for KP. Even Super Bowl QB’s don’t fair well when the coaching is poor and there is internal squabbling in the locker room (see Russell Wilson under Hacket in Denver).

People keep say how bad Mason was a few years ago, but Yet His stats , and win loss record don't back that up. Some of You just dreamed He was that bad..., and yes compared to a 1st ballot HOF Qb Ben He was, but the Man has only played 13 games as a starter.....imagine how bad KFP, or Mitch Trubisky would have looked compared if they were coming in for Ben.

I think it’s pretty fair to say Mason was a victim of our inept coaching and not being given a fair chance. Still don’t think he is a championship caliber QB

I actually don't think anyone knows how good He can be. Its not about speed ,or arm strength. It's about how well You can run a system. Even as bad a Canada was....there were plays to be made, and people can say what they want, but many many plays We ran with KFP....We ran with Mason....one found the open guy, and one was having trouble doing so.

I don’t think he actually got a fair shake man. Ben isolated him out of the gate then he was injured and could t get back in then left on the PS while KP and MT played historically bad. That being said I’m not saying he is the answer just that he has been not given a fair chance.

It was not the only change but if you think that having McVay instead of Jeff Fisher is not a huge difference coaching don't matter for you...Todd Gurley was also much better in 2017 and 2018 under McVay until he had major knee problem
