He's doing a trilogy. Like the Matrix. 20 years from now he'll create another and drop it on Christmas.

Problem with that theory is what Superbowl contender would want him with what he's showing on and off the field

This implies that he values winning a SB over money, because he is performance and public attitude about it are the equivalent of tossing $100 bills into his fireplace as kindling. I doubt it. He’s just an immature kid who hasn’t been led well enough to understand how to be an adult.

In watching the interview, one of his worst comments was that nobody is playing well on the Steelers!!!!! What a nut case, also he did admit that he has a mental thing !!! I think he is afraid of reinjuring his knee again and shying away from getting hit.

Common now its the knee not the cranium

    Reporter:

So Devin, how come you go left when your supposed to go right and vice versa? Do you know your responsibilities? And why do you run away from contact?

Bush: No one is playing good! No one. No one is playing up to their potential...

Hmmmm, lets ask Cam Heyward how he feels... STFU kid and stop being a whiner.

TJ Watt chimes in: Looks like your going to be one and done here. You will always have your fashion sense though...

    Bush isn't that intelligent.

Regardless of his motivations, Bush should be inactive Sunday. Claypool should be right there with him. Fixing the culture of this team is far more important than trying to stagger into the playoffs, and the first step is to hold players accountable.

Claypool was benched for a selfish, stupid penalty, but he clearly didn't get the message. He just saved his next selfish, stupid act for the final seconds of the game. Bush's play was already listless. His comments make it even more clear that he does not care. He seems to think his knee is one excuse to slack off and his team's poor play is another. If your teammates are struggling, you are supposed to step up and take up the slack, not play even worse. He doesn't get that.

Of course, it won't happen. Tomlin will keep trotting both of them out there. He will keep sending the message that this **** is acceptable. He used to be better than this.

I remember in the beginning of his coaching career Willie Parker was complaining about not getting enough rushing attempts to the media. Tomlin responded when asked about Parkers statement and said "Every day I walk into the stadium I walk past 5 Lombardi's not 5 rushing titles". That was a top rope statement!

Like you said scribe he used to be better then this. He just allows the nonsense to go on and its getting worse.

I try and put myself into MT situation and ask myself, what would I do with having players that don't get it. But there could be various scenarios that are in play and therefor I have no starting point to adjust from. Here is what I mean:
    1. MT may not think anything is wrong about what is going on with his players and is confused about what all the hub bub is about with these extraneous issues being printed regarding their desire to work and being selfish on the field.
    2. MT may think that there is a problem with discipline and holding players accountable, but he is up against a wall in trying to maintain his never having a losing season. Therefore, he has to play everyone and anyone to achieve this. Record vs Culture battle here?
    3. MT understands that he has a culture problem on the team that has strayed outside the lines of acceptability and keeping players' minds right. But then, realizes that you can't be Coach Cool one day and the next Coach Accountability. Therefore, he probably can't do anything different until maybe after the season when he can start from scratch with a new set of rules of conduct.
None of these are probably anything near reality but I am retired so I sit here pondering WTF would I do and post what pops up. I am sure many will have different versions of what they perceive as their opinion of what is going on in MT's mug or give this a red x and move on. JMO>

I am guessing he doesn't spend much time watch game tapes of his upcoming opponents then.

He still gets a wait and see from me, because of his injury.

“Nameless gray faces.” It’s unbelievable that we have a coach who tells his players to think of opponents that way rather than as a very specific opponent with strengths to try to counter and weaknesses to try to exploit.

By all accounts if they are to be believed (can't make this stuff up) most weekly practices are about correcting coachable mistakes, attention to detail, and preparation. As @Steel_Elvis@Steel_Elvis said in his post the nameless grey faces. Tomlin believes that if they do what they do to the best of their ability it translates to wins. It's arrogance that doesn't account for the other team having better execution than they do. They get a Tomlin package on Friday or Saturday's walk through of things he has highlighted for the week such as this team has a tendency to throw wobbly passes if the pass rush starts generating pressure.

There is always someone who overpays or thinks they need just one more piece. Could be in a year Dan Synder will be allowed to make personnel decisions for his football team again.

I'm not sure who his representation is or if his family who played have some savy business acumen but look at it this way. He had a borderline great rookie year, lost the 2nd year to injury, comes back this year but can see that things don't look good beneath the surface. Given his season to date is the 5th year option even on the kiddy table? They have to lock Minkah up. Replace Tuitt and Alualu find two new starting corners potentially a new QB and 2 WR's. So if he stinks enough that he doesn't get a 5th yr option or franchise tagged he can potentially do what Conner is doing in Arizona. I mean once he is sure they aren't going to use the options available to keep him he can turn things up and cause his stock to rise.

Just some speculation on my part though.

With Bush, I think Mike knows the dude isn't playing well, but there is no one better to replace him, and there is still the possibility of Bush turning it around. Confidence is a shaky thing. If you bench him and read him the riot act, maybe he doesn't come back from that?

I don’t think you are listening to what he actually said. Bush saying no one is playing up to their potential is 100% him throwing the coaching staff under the bus.
