He has played a lot in the second half. A little green.

His first step is pretty quick, got pushed up the arc at times but not bad for the 1st preseason game. He needs to change that #48 though. Just doesn't seem like a intimidating number lol

Looked bad, but in a good way, in my opinion.

He looked lost. He looked like he was trying new things. His first attempt at rushing the passer was hilarious - he tried a spin move (he is notorious for having no pass rush moves so he's trying to learn them), and he basically started to spin while he was still running. He might as well have said to the OT, "I'm going to do a spin move when I get there, ok?"

This is his time to make mistakes and get his feet wet and learn. It looked like that.

I think folks need to get used to seeing very little out of Dupree during at least the first half of the season, and possibly for the entire season. His potential is very high, but he may need a redshirt season - or a least a redshirt half-season ala Martavis Bryant. Personally, I expected that when we drafted him, and I am fine with it. I think he'll be worth the wait.

You know of all the things to talk about and break down, the number a guy wears seems most trivial.

But you are totally right! He needs to ditch that 4th string TE number ASAP and get a proper 50 or 90-something.

I'm more interested when and if Jarvis Jones will come around. Dupree should get more reps pre season. He will sit and be inserted during the season but his showing yesterday was less then stellar.

I watched him close last night. Very green. He has a long way to go to become a starter. But, I think the tools are there, he just has to get comfortable in the 3-4.

I remember the days of guys like Joey Porter and Clarke Haggans. It wasn't even considered that new OLB's would get any starting time in year 1 and maybe even year 2, just because it does take time to learn the position and catch up to the speed of the game. Some plays here and there and rotating in was the best they could hope for. These days they get drafted and somebody is shoving them out onto the field with about half an idea of what they are supposed to be doing. It's the impatient nature of today's league.

He just isn't mentally ready, that comes with film room study and game experience, he has all the physical tools and no one expected him to be game ready this soon, give him time and he will meet expectations...

He was invisible all night last night, although I can't say I expected anything different tho. It's tough for rookies to come in and be nfl ready. We all kinda knew he was a project anyways... He is an insane athlete, so I would've liked to have seen him make a play with his athleticism against the second and third stringers. As kong as he is considerably better at the end of the year than he is today it will be a good season for the kid.

Shazier had a huge game in pre season last year. Last night he had some problems missing tackles.

I think he will be ready when his number is called. Looking to the future, I have a feeling this kid will be fun to watch. Just my humble opinion but I was the one that was on the money with Bell...just saying (never mind, I also thought Limas was going to be dominant)
