Where does everyone think things will stand with the future of these two? Also, how much do you think Brown will command in his next contract? I cringe thinking about how much he'll be worth...

I'm having my doubts about Bell getting a big contract extension. AB will get something astronomical. And he will get it from the Steelers. But not until after next season.

Ugh, can we live in the moment and enjoy this team now and not worry about next season?
It's like being out all drunk and happy at 2 am with a hot little coed who is a sure thing and you whisper in my ear that I have to get up at 5 am for work.

One of the beat writers said that Brown will absolutely be a Steeler for life. Take that for what its worth.

Don't know what it will take to keep both but I'm sure Villanueva's play has spelled the end of Beachums tenure in the Burgh, so that will free up some cash and the cap will go up again.

Fingers crossed they can sign them both.

i'm pretty sure Villanueva's play has spelled the end of beachums tenure at LT.... he will move inside to LG and either push foster out or to the bench

Norwegian Wood. LOL! I will admit that I already have nightmares when I think about what it's going to take to keep Bell, Bryant, Brown, and Ben and then surround them all with other talent. I HOPE we get early returns on Dupree and Golson and finally get another truly great safety and it might be more manageable. Also with the way Wheaton is playing lately we might be able to get something good for him in a trade. I hate to have to think that way but it's just the reality of the business.

The highest paid wr is Calvin Johnson at 15 mil

I think brown gets at least 16 mil for 6 years which is 72 million

    With about 50 mil guaranteed

The highest rb is A Peterson at 14 mil

While I think bell is double the rb Peterson is I don't think he gets near that kind of money

I think prob 5 years 4o mil for bell with 20 guaranteed

AB still has two years left on his deal they can wait until after the 2016 season to redo his contract. They need to sign Bell and DeCastro to longterm deals first.

Need Bell. He is a generational talent. If we are rolling like this without Pouncey and Beachum... Maybe their money could go elsewhere. Sucks to think about because they are both great true Steelers but hey, the business side sucks.

Then again, I think Bell's length makes his legs/knees injury prone.

They can do both. As long as we do them in separate years we will be able to afford them.

Why in the world would he do that? He'll go play LT for another team and make more money.

I think AB will get a big deal in the 60 mill range, and they need to get it done before he is a F/Agent, because he wont last 5 minutes on the open market, next year is Bells contract year, and looking at all of the running back contracts the top 8 or so average about 38 mill, so Bell should be at about 35 mill for 5 years, maybe 40, look at this chart and decide where he fits in.....http://overthecap.com/position/running-back/

I love Bell , but as all have stated his frequent injuries have to be a huge concern . It is sad to say , but as a RB his value is not that great money wise . After the Murray/Chip thing expect Teams to be really tight when signing RB'S . Basically I am not concerned with the Bell money , it won't be that great . Brown on the other hand might set a new record...

Despite Beachum's success at LT, most teams will still look at his size as a detriment... besides, the man has played and excelled at every position along the o-line.... what's more is that he has never complained during the time he was moved all over the place without a permanent home.. and last, but not least, he will be coming off an acl injury, which will also put off all but the most desperate teams... trust me when I say that we are looking at our next LG

On the other hand Bell isnt

He played in 13 games his rookie year, and had 860 yards rushing and 399 passing: In 2014 he played in 16 games and had 1361 yards rushing and 854 passing, this year he was suspended for 2 games and only played in 6 games and he had 556 rushing and 136 passing then he had his knee injury: If he rehabs at a fast pace he could have one of his best years and earn a contract worthy of his numbers, basically looking at his games played he isnt injury prone based off of his availability...

This. I doubt he gets paid out on the FA market like we think. He isn't. Prototypical size and he is coming off injury... I dont see anyone valuing him as their franchise LT.

While I think he will end up being a better T than G, I still think he should be retained to fill that need if we can.

You could always franchise tag Bell and buy yourself a year.
They don't pay the running backs like the used too.
The position has been devalued over the last 10 years.
Could you imagine how good the offense would be if Pouncey and Bell were actually playing?

    yeah
    we'd be 16-0 with Pouncey playing:smiley1:
wish we drafted Bell in the 1st rd instead of that bust JJ
wouldn't we have an option in his contract then
