The sacks and pressures he gave up can be coached (if we had a coach that was capable of that type of instruction)...

On the sacks he gave up, he became susceptible to spin moves because he was lunging..... he left his arms out... it's the equivalent of a boxer letting a lazy jab hang... usually that boxer ends up looking up at the ceiling lights....

Jones needs to learn to jab quickly and reset for the next jab .. then, on the spin move he can get his knee bend and deliver his own knockout blow....

If course, as I stated earlier, you have to have a coach that's capable of teaching these things

    we will see

kid is on thin ice, as of now.

from what I observed, he did play a better 2nd half....

Pat Meyer is the one that should be on thin ice

Problem is Jones has been lunging now for three whole seasons. Lunging, by itself, is correctable. However, when a lineman does it repeatedly?! Now it is an issue. That isn't accounting for him being late to firing his hands into his oppositions chest either; another aspect about his game that hasn't fully turned around.

Flipping sides by itself isn't going to solve those problems. Broderick is going to need time; as is the rest of the Offensive Line. Among the players though on the short leash?! Broderick is among tops for the Offensive Lineman.

So again, either Broderick Jones can step it up or he will be benched. No other options.

who would play in his stead?

maybe an early season move, trade?

Either Andrus Peat or Calvin Anderson.

Neither option is an option I'd want to go with. That said, should that be the case, desperate time shall call for desperate measures. Still way too early in the season to give up on Broderick.

He needs to get it together though.

When we brought Peat in I watched some film on him because I didn't know much about him. I thought he looked pretty solid. He would be an interesting option if Jones continues to struggle.

He has played Left Tackle before.

That said, that was some time ago. Who knows how he'll look now. However, desperate time will call for desperate measures.

The Steelers could always flip Fautanu and play Peat at RT. Nothing like flipping your tackles every couple weeks. Lol

I don't know but if he doesn't improve Myles Garrett is gonna have 5 sacks against us, and Rodgers might not make it.

Cam heyward should be on then ice as well. But if he was on a ton thick ice, he still break it with how fat he's got.

He is 6-5. He will never be 6-7, 6-8, a true tackle. He is an elite general linemen playing tackle.

Tristan Wirfs is a HOF Caliber OT who is 6'5. Trent Williams is 6'5. Hell, Troy Fautanu is 6'4.

Talent does not equate to tape measurement when it comes to NFL Players. Using the argument in regards to height requirements, Troy Polamalu should have been a 6th Round rounder back in 2003.

This is assuming Brian Flores doesn't scheme up his own players to have BroJo account for 5 on his own.

I know how to improve him. Give him 1 more game, if he doesn't hold blocks longer switch Fautanu to his natural side. And make Broderick battle it out for RT.

the initial thread says this is 'easily fixable'

my read of this and of his 3 years here + 1 game is it is NOT easily fixable...

Tristan Wirfs is the most athletic lineman of all time. And he is not a true tackle at 6-5. The other two you mentioned are meh at tackle. They are not true tackles!

So hire Essex as his personal coach and freaking fix him. And, if he's just that dumb, move on.

I truly believe Fautanu eventually winds up on the left.

    Give Rodgers time.
Literally time to throw the ball.

I don’t see the Oline and coaching being a priority to give him what he needs.
