Yeah, according to Vegas too, you're a hoot!

You want to piss on your team all the time, knock yourself out but you couldn't be more wrong. Team is very close.

There is going to be an overwhelming bias toward the Steelers in here because, well, ....it's a Steelers poster room! lmfao. And then there will be few who can step out of their bias and see things objectively. Neither side should be severely roasted for their views. I'm able to put aside my desire for this team to win 45 Super Bowls in a row (yeah, I'm being greedy) and see the flawed areas we have. And I admit that I talk about the flaws more then the good but that's just what you do in trying to achieve your ultimate goal.

But I don't think neither side should beat the other up tremendously for their slant. This is a Steelers poster room; the majority of Steeler fans (or fans of any team) are homers. And that's good. I'd be worried if you came into a team's poster room and the majority were not homers. Love the homers; and love the few who can see their team more objectively. It's all good. At the end of the day, we should all unite as Steeler fans.

Groan. Way to insult most of the members of this forum.

I'll take myself out of the following statement because I know how you like to paint me with the bias brush but there are quite a few members here like TTF, Elvis, RPO to name just a few that have far mare football knowledge than you and far more objective.

Stop acting like you are the lone voice of reason, When one finds themselves at odds with an entire room, they are generally the ones in the wrong.

Never said I was the lone voice. You are assuming a lot. And I never named "names". Again, your assuming a whole lot. I'm in a Steelers room; the majority are suppose to feel that way. ANd I get it.

If I went to the Patriots room and said the patriots are cheaters, the majority would defend them. But it doesn't make them right. :)

It wasn't just the secondary that cost them against the Ravens and Ryan Mallet, Roethlisberger played like crap IIRC he had 3 ints in that game.

I'll just point out that in the losses to Cinci and Baltimore (with Mallett), we gave up 16 and 20 points. Yeah, the Mallett game was ugly and confusing for our defense, but it was the offense that hiccuped the most in those games. The secondary was actually pretty solid in the Cinci game. Green got his 100+ yards, but the rest of the Bengals offense was shut down until the defense got worn out in the 4th quarter.

When A.J. Green goes to renegotiate his next contract, he'll be using his Steeler highlights to speak for him. LOL.

Dude don't act like Harrison is playing at a Pro Bowl level, he had 5 sacks last season and they came in three games. I admitted I was wrong about that.

At #25 of the draft. No one would complain. Not likely to happen. Of course, it depends on the definition of "one of the top".

And your not thinking injuries were a major factor at the end of last season?

Yep you owned it and no one ever said he was playing at a probowl level just that he still had stuff left in the tank. What made it funny and why I am cautioning Dean was that you went 150+ mpH into the wall to prove to everyone you were right and when you were even a little wrong you knew we were going to tease you about it although I think Jack got way worse than you did.

The scrolls say he will be a 10 time All Pro, 12 time Pro Bowler, 15 time SB winner and how the Steelers will rue the day they let him slip through their fingers.

    I'm weeping already.

Oh you mean the CB some Steeler fans hyped him up like he was the next Revis, and that BS about him being the best CB on the Steelers.

I would've kept Boykin another year and paid him a fraction of what Cortez will cost us, post mortem. Maybe they tried who knows?

What do we have in the new kids?

Can you reference where someone said Boykin is better than Revis?

That sounds like a straw man argument to me.

Do you feel that an argument could be made for Boykin being a better corner than Gay based on Boykin holding opposing QBs to a significantly lower rating every season he has been in the NFL?

" In consecutive seasons, Boykin has allowed just three touchdowns in pass coverage and opposing quarterbacks have never had a higher passer rating than 77.2."

That was written at the start of last season so Boykin has never surrendered worse than a 77.2 passer rating.

Last year Gay surrendered a 77.9 passer rating in his best season as a pro. That is very good but still higher than any single season for Boykin.

Of course, these stats are all collected by Pro Football Focus and should be taken with a grain of salt; they do however provide a framework for arguing Boykin at 25 would have been a better keep than an aging 10 year veteran.

I was just throwing that out there because by the way some of you talk you would think Gay is the best cornerback since Darelle Revis!!!

I never said that fans thought Boykin was better than Revis, I said some fans act like he was on the same level as Revis which he is not. All those PFF stats don't mean :poopy:, Gay is better than Boykin he can play the slot and outside CB. If Boykin is good as some of you think he is why did he sign that low 1 year contract with Carolina.

Oh so PFF that does the best job of analyzing players on a play by play basis is wrong... and salaries determine a player's value? How much does Jay Cutler make again? So Antonio Brown is the 15th best WR in the NFL? Oh OK.

    Spurious logic.

And William Gay is an average outside corner but in the Steelers system of 8 yard cushions 90% of the time all that is necessary is a corner who can tackle.

Anybody who sat the bench behind Blake was going to get a piss poor contract.

If Boykin plays all his snaps in Carolina and they make another run at a Superbowl and especially if they win the Superbowl then he will get paid which I hope he does.
