    It's a conditional pick. I think they got a good deal. :smiley1:

Yeah, I saw there were media rumors last week about him possibly missing preseason. Good thing Tomlin didn't say he'd only be out a short time following a "procedure". :)

Very disappointing. I was looking forward to having an actual playmaker at CB.

Dude we need to build a special padded bubble and force all of our newly drafted players in to it until the first snap of the regular season. We should only feed them marshmallows with no utensils so as not to give them any way to injure themselves whatsoever and then MAYBE they can manage to be healthy for their first season with us. I mean seriously dude.

As a slot corner, he has 7 career interceptions and 4 forced fumbles. I guess he is on a one year deal, since that is what he had left with the Eagles.

This is great news. Terrible news for Golson if he is out for an extended amount of time, but Boykin is legit. As of now, we're rolling Gay Allen and Boykin as our starting CB's this year... I like it.

What is up with the second rounder's getting hurt?

Disappointing news about Golson, hopefully he doesn't have to miss the season. At least they went out and got a experienced CB, the Steelers must lead the league with 5' 9" CBs :lolol:

injuries happen. Good thing it happened now where he has time to learn the playbook. Gay can hold his own. Our secondary makes or break with allen. I think he picks it up but injuries concern me. Lets be positive peeps... defense just needs to be good enough to make noise with our crazy O.

I read somewhere that Cortez Allen leads the team in interceptions over the last three seasons. Is that right?

no clue but apparently he is holding his own in practice. Against this O that's good I guess.

I love this signing! I wanted them to get him before the draft when Philly was shopping him around. As soon as I heard it, I told my friend SG is put for the year, and he didn't believe me. Well, it appears that is why as SG could be out for the year. Makes me wonder how and when he did this as there is no hitting in the spring. The team has probably known this for awhile now. Regardless, I like him, and this is a solid trade!!! This guy can play. Our D will be much improved

So what kind of shoulder injury sidelines you for the whole year unless you need major surgery? That is what I want to know...

I like that the Steelers are being more pro active
as a team,it is unfortunate that Golson will miss training camp,
Rookies really need to be on training camp field everyday learning.
I was hoping he and Grant make Cortez expendable.

Ugh, I should know what to expect *by now*... excitement at the draft at how good we can be, disappointment as the injuries mount up in camp... but every year it feels like the first...

By my counting (not reliable), Allen has 6, Timmons has 5, Gay and Clark had 4 and Polamalu 3 between 2012-14.

Solid signing for sure. He wants to start outside and I believe he brings competition for Allen. So Allen best not have any meltdowns. He was penciled in as a starter due to the contract. Hope Allen can rise up but after last years meltdown i'm not sold. Golson's injury is unfortunate and rumor is putting him on injured reserve. So the shoulder must need surgery.

Is a good signing he knows what he is doing , I also believe he has some Cover 2 back ground which is a plus . I know he played a lot of cover 3.

Boykin was pretty high on my radar coming out of college. I felt similarly about him to how I felt about Golson during this draft. I admit I haven't kept up with his pro career, but he's a guy that I'm happy to get.

great pickup. too bad about golson. webb, grant, fogg, blake fighting for those couple of backup spots now. maybe a safety comes from one of them.

I think Grant ends up as a starting corner by next season. I don't see him as a safety. He seems to me like a solid, steady #2 corner with good scheme diversity (basically anything other than pure man with no deep help). He just needs 1 season to grow into the NFL game, and may be ready to contribute significantly before then.
