True or not, there's a reference to Ben and Trump in Stormy Daniels book. Doesn't matter which side you are on or who you believe, but this can't help the situation with the team right now. Maybe that is why Ben is taking the day off - to avoid talking to the press.

I thought it was pretty damn funny. The lack of self-awareness is breathtaking.

When Donald Trump was running for President some comedian (name escapes me) said regardless where your politics stand Trump is a goldmine for material. Damn Steelers are heading that way.

I took a lot of sh-t when the Steelers stayed in the tunnel during the Anthem, now I'm getting it because of the actions of the players. It is coming from Eagle fans. All I say to ward them off is, "when you get half as many SB's as we have talk to me".

"Taking a veteran's day off." I thought Veteran's Day was November 11. Maybe he is using today as a floating holiday, but the Steelers are already off on Veteran's Day.

I like how he responded to the media. He's been professional throughout all of this, and he is leading by example.

the headline is kind of funny though. the dude just needs to be sporting some chest hair with hot blondes hanging off each arm.

The best thing Ben does by example is defend his teammates. I still am in awe of the way he truly seemed to believe the stuff he said about how great the offensive line was when they were routinely getting him killed.

Should he have come out saying AB is being a selfish prick, or pointing the blame at other players for his performance?

    I disagree in your assessment.

Ummm...I am not sure what you are disagreeing with. I was praising Ben for defending his teammates. Why would I then expect him to rip AB? Ben never rips his teammates even when they deserve it, which was the point of bringing up his defense of some woeful offensive lines. Maybe you misunderstood what I was saying.

Ben called out the entire team after they dropped 4 straight a couple years ago.

Calling out the team is very different that criticizing specific players. And to be clear I would not want Ben to criticize specific players. I think Ben deserves praise for the way he sticks by his guys. As I said I think it is one of his best qualities as a leader.

Ben has always been full of ****. I remember his interviews during the first super bowl run. I used to listen to him answer questions and think, what a load of crap. At least with Belichick it's obvious on what he is doing. He doesnt want to answer your questions. Ben had an aura of BS around his answers. Something I never like with people in general.

This team has ZERO leaders. It's been that way for a while. Ben is not a leader. He is a gunslinger with a lot of talent. Bell is a douche bag. AB is a selfish diva. Maybe TJ Watt when these clowns leave or retire will be the new face of the Steelers. That will be another few years though.

I agree, he stands by his guys. That's probably why I remembered his comments from '16, it was out of character. The starting QB can't call out individual team mates and expect them to perform (in most cases), especially delicate guys like AB.
