Best first round pick is a toss up between Joe Green and Terry Bradshaw. Worst pick in my estimation is Huey Richardson. I don't think Richardson has a single tackle while here. Could be wrong though.

Best probably Bradshaw or Roethlisberger. Worst Huey Richardson or Dick Leftridge from WVU, though few would remember him. I only vaguely know of him.
If you count success for other teams but not the Steelers, Len Dawson was a number one but won three championships with Kansas City. In the 50s/early 60s the Steelers had Dawson, Unitas, Morrall, Finks, Kemp, and Marchibroda at one time or another, but had no idea what to do with any of them.
I thought maybe Rhino Rienstra was the worst but he actually played longer than I remembered.

Took Rivera and passed on Marino. Worst mistake ever made by Pitt

    Best Pick: Joe Greene

Changed the franchise's culture and played a major part in the transformation of the organization

    Worst Pick: Huey Richardson

I could go on and on about this pick but I will put it this way; Huey's Career makes Artie's look like Ike Taylors.

Any bust like Jarvis that they wasted several years ignoring the position while hoping the player turned into something.

At least they could move on from Rivera quickly.

And to make it 100 times worse for Rivera and the Steelers, he got drunk and drove into a retaining wall.

Tragedy all around, especially for Gabe.

No i thought you were judging Senoir Sack's ability. I was not thinking
of other players available that year. I should have qualified my questioning. Unfortunately Dan
had a problem never proven going around at that time that made the Rooney's back off.
I watched Dan at Pitt his whole career, I am a Pitt fan. He could sling it, that is why he is a HOF.

He wasn’t a bad pick, it just tuned out badly. Senor Sack actually played quite well during his short career.
I was a student at Pitt when Marino was there and remember the rumors. Whether they were what led the Steelers to pass on him I don’t know. I never saw any evidence that they were true. I have heard that whisper campaigns are used in the NFL draft to get someone to drop.
Bradshaw finished in 1983 and Marino entered the league the same year. What if the Steelers had drafted him, and they didn’t miss a beat behind center for 30 years?

Jamain Stephens and Troy Edwards have to be included in the worst conversation. Stephens didn’t even make it out of training camp before getting cut.
