Hard to tell, he hurt his wrist so early in the game that the sample size beforehand was too small. When Ben is off though, he's really off. I will say though that if this is a repeat of the SF game where he is too hurt to effectively play, we need to bench him and go with someone that doesn't have a broken wrist

I watched the replay of the game yesterday and you could tell immediately that he had hurt his wrist and it was bothering him. He had a couple errant throws earlier than that so there was no doubt that he was a little off to begin with. He smacked his hand against a D linemans arm from what I could tell.

The next two plays were handoffs to Bell. Both of those plays he handed the ball off with his left (non-throwing, non-injured) hand. It looked very out of sync. You could tell right away that it was bothering him.

I am actually really surprised its that severe. It didn't look like he hit it that hard when I was watching. Either way, that sucks.

If average gets you 3 superbowl appearances and 2 Championships in a decade then bring me all the average QB's over the next 50 years.

You don't even need that bone. Ryan Zimmerman, Wilson Ramos and some other MLB guys got it removed.

No your right there but as the article/video pointed out it will be somewhat painful for full range and extension of wrist with throws. Accuracy could be an issue .

I'm not sure how reliable this is, but it would explain why many of his balls were sailing high on Sunday.

This could be a good thing, now hopefully he'll look for the shorter passes and get back on track with Haley.

Ben likes to be dramatic with his injuries.

Seems like he had his passes under control in the 4th quarter. Cept for that drive with the turnover on downs, he was definitely elite during the 4th quarter

Yeah, It was obvious he was hurting right after that, and I noticed the hand-offs with the left hand, too.

It seemed that he kinda shook it off, as the game went on, but he was definitely having problems, right after it happened.

After a buncha handoffs, he threw pretty much nothing but short passes for the next few attempts.

As the game went on, his passes were off, but not what I would call "severely"...

I noticed Heath drop 2 that he had his hands on, even if they were tough catches, and another couple recievers do the same...A. Brown missed one, and I think Wheaton, shortly after the injury(before halftime).

After the half, he seemed to at least have the strength back in it, whether it affected his accuracy, I`m not sure.

At least he was capable of throwing it deep, and getting it in the general area he wanted...

Sure hope he can play well Sunday. We need him at his best!!!

Not sure if I would advocate for him taking a painkilling shot in the wrist before the game, or not...

    Normally, I would...

But then i remember a game where Bettis was unavailable, `cause he took a shot, and his whole leg went numb/useless...

Here`s hopin he can play thru the injury, without it affecting him much, but I don`t like the sound of it.

We need him to be at his best, and I don`t see how he can be, if it affects his follow thru.

MAYBE we can "game-plan" around it, but it will be pretty obvious to the Bungles if we go 70% run, and 100% screens/ slants/short passes early, that they don`t have to worry about the deep ball...

Unless, he CAN throw, and we sucker them into thinking that... ???

GO STEELERS!!! 4-0 Gets us to the Dance!!!

    EDIT:

On a side note, I noticed that Ben disputes he has any injury, at all...

Well, of course he does... Is he gonna come out, and let the Bungles know he`s not 100%???
According to SOME here, that`s exactly what this "drama queen" qb, would do.

Never understood that complaint from our fanbase...:facepalm:SMDH:rolleyes:

Those 4th quarter stats were due to the dump-offs to Bell being wide open and Bell getting massive YAC, and it was in garbage time when the outcome of the game was evident, especially since we already blew 2 time-outs.

That'll only work if the average QB has the #1 D to clean up his bonehead mistakes. Now that the average QB no longer has the #1 D , his brain dead mistakes are standing out more and the team has become a .500 team

I have nvr seen Ben being overly dramatic with his injuries, IMO he is one of the toughest players in the nfl.

He hasn't helped the cause, the D that used to get him out of trouble isn't there any more. He's worth more on the trading block. We could rob the Cards for picks and starters. Send Ben, Ike and Troy over there for 10 picks.

Let's send the entire team to the Cards and get their picks for the next 20 years. I believe your onto something here...or on something anyhow.

If you could get 3 or 4 plays back from the Saints game, the end result may have been dramatically different.

First, were the plays leading up to the missed field goal - didn't Heath drop a pass, plus Ben was off on another pass. Had either of those been a run, the Field goal may have been for less than 50 yards and more make-able.

Second, if Ben doesn't throw the INT in the endzone.

Third and Fourth - Some of those Brees TD passes, the secondary coverage was just ridiculous. If the safeties stay in position and do their jobs, maybe one of those TD's don't happen.

Point is, these were all plays that could have been made within the talent of this team. A little bit of coaching and an little bit of execution and this team wins that game. Given the Cincy game is on the road, if they get together and beat them, I feel they have a good shot at winning out, or at least getting to 10-5 with a showdown against Cincy the last week.

Does he throw int's sure every QB does but he has not thrown as many as everyone's golden child, manning this year. and the only real diff in the two are 25 yrds and 10 td,s. Plus Denver has better recievers than us across the board........................... Thats all im gona say on this subject..

Agree! We probably don't ever know half of the injuries, not to mention the aches and pains he probably deals with constantly, from the # of hits he's taken the past 10 years.
