Since the Bengals pick at #21, one pick ahead of our beloved Steelers, let's take a look at their needs and potential targets.

First let's assume the first 15 picks eliminate these players. In no particular order:

    Jameis Winston
    Marcus Mariota
    Leonard Williams
    Randy Gregory
    Shane Ray
    Brandon Scherff
    Ereck Flowers
    Dante Fowler
    Amari Cooper
    Andrus Peat
    Danny Shelton
    Vic Beasley
    Devante Parker
    Kevin White
    Alvin "Bud" Dupree

Obviously, this is a guess but conforms to most mocks. Some teams will throw in the usual curveball. Feel free to add yours as well. I went heavy on OTs and pass rushers.

    The Bengals needs:
QB - set with Dalton imo and won't go rnd 1
RB - Bernard and Hill. Unfortunately they are deep here.
WR - Green and Sanu. Could be upgraded at #2 and #3.
TE - Eifert. Gresham is a FA. Could be a target here.
OT - Whitworth has 1 yr left, Winston on the right. If a guy falls, what team wouldn't upgrade?
OG - Boling and Zeitler. I think they are covered here, but Boling is a FA.
C - Last year started a rookie in Bodine.

DT - Atkins and Peko. Peko could be replaced
DE - Dunlap and Gilberry. They miss Johnson and Margus Hunt doesn't conjure images of one of my favorite shows "Vikings"
LB - Vincent Rey, Maualuga, Burfict, Lamur. Maualuga is a FA and Lamur can be upgraded.
CB - Newman, Hall, Kirkpatrick, Jones. Jones had another casino fail, Newman is a FA. Dennard was Casper as a rook
S - Iloka and Nelson. Both can be upgraded and Nelson is 31.

So I think the needs are OT, DT, DE, S, and TE as a last ditch. I think CB could be in play here because they love to draft CBs high but they just got Dennard last year and it seems implausible.

LT Whitworth is in his last year, so if a OT prospect falls they could snag one here. Prospects: TJ Clemmings, La'el Collins, and versatile Cameron Erving.

Along the DL they have a good selection: Eddie Goldman, maybe Arik Armstead, Jordan Phillips and Malcolm Brown.

For Safety they have Landon Collins and possibly Anthony Harris.

And for TE there is Maxx Williams, but since they took Tyler Eifert I can't imagine they would go this route with their needs along the lines.

My take: one of the OTs like Collins or DTs like Goldman who can be disruptive. The S Collins could also be a play here. What is your take?

I really appreciate your work on this but whats the point. do you care what the bengals do? it wont affect us at all. one of the stud pass rushers of this draft should be there and if we lose worilds that has to be the pick.imo

I am not so sure 1 stud OLB will be there . I see the OP'S point as what if they steal the player we need right from under us. Unfortunately I think they will. I predict they take Trae Waynes . The exact guy we need.

Division rival who picks one spot in front of us and I thought they had similar needs which would directly impact who is left on the board for us. Just thought it was worth some discussion.

    It is.

I think they go line, depending on who is available. Would not be shocked if they went WR if one fell, since their offense shuts down when Green is out (If Green-Beckham is there, he's a Bengal).

Off the top of my head I think they take TJ Clemmings, the OT from Pitt.

    Definitely impacts us.

I see EDGE being a strong possibility for their 1st round pick.

Another MSU CB in the first. They do love taking DBs high.

One more thing I think people forget to think about is the Rookie pay structure. A team can now afford to take multiple stabs at a position because the price is so low. Like the contract that the CB Dennard got only like 6.5 million guaranteed money pretty cheap so the only risk is the draft pick. Not risking the pick and huge money the way it used to be.

This is exactly why we should value CB'S at a higher rate in the draft , I think you will start seeing Teams double dipping that position as long as they have young guys to they find the CB'S they want.

I could see Dupree falling out of those top picks. size is ideal but the sack production is lacking. sort of that guy that looks like tarzan plays like jane type for this draft. I hope he's not our pick.

I think he will be gone and he seems like a guy who just needs motivated . If he is there I would like to have him provided my other top guys are gone. The guy I don't want to draft is Beasly he is falling like a rock and I think he is to small and to weak to play OLB.

I would rather us play shrink than body builder . It seems KC likes to play body builder a lot not working out so great maybe time to try a physical specimen like Dupree his 6'4 270 could be beast if head gets right . Worth the risk to me.

If they get DGB, that will be a tough matchup for our secondary. From the brief things I have seen in his interviews, he seems to want to put his troubled past in the rearview.

Clemmings could probably use some seasoning and he could sit behind Whitworth for a year.

if it came down to Dupree, I'd rather go with kikaha, Harold or hunter if they are dead set on a pass rusher early maybe even mckinney. I think he's quite intriguing as an overlooked possibility. then bust a late round pick on my boy trevor harris from Houston. I like what I've seen of him and I think there is something to work with. it wouldn't be immediate though.

It doesn't matter who the Bengals pick as long as Dalton is their QB aka playoff choker.

i'm still hoping for trae waynes at 22 but I have a sinking feeling our cross town rivals in philly may snatch him up first

The more I've been reading lately, I've been starting to think Maxx Williams is going to be our pick. This thread has me thinking that may be the case even more
