Ben came out and said he wants to play into the future even if he uses a walker or needs to be wheel chaired under center.

He said he will be back for next season.

It's high time to draft a QB in 2021 that can have a year to sit and learn (hopefully not under Ol Randy) and can be relied on to start if called upon. They have no answer if Ben goes down. Even if they have to move up some in the draft.

If he stays they will need to extend him again to get some cap relief. To be honest, I’m not overly concerned whether he stays or not because I don’t think they will be contenders next season either way. The list of free agents at the end of this season is crazy, and they are already in cap trouble with just 32 guys signed in to 2021. The OLine needs a major upgrade and realistically that’s a two season project minimum to get that functioning correctly.

Part of me thinks the team would be better off long term if he retired and let them clean up their cap situation. That’s not a shot at Ben whatsoever, they did their best to load the cannon for him this season but with all those free agent losses coming up it’s win or bust in 2020 in my opinion.
