This is what gets me, Ben hardly gets any sacks last game, has interview after game, Tomlin has post game talk, Ben dose not practice, which is normal, and no mention of any injury.

Now 2 1/2 days after the game we hear he is questionable, are we missing something, I know he fell down a couple of times during the game, but that's about it.

Stop with this nonsense. Ben would play with a crutch like Tiny Tim. God bless everyone...

The Washington D is not bad.
    They’ll get a few sacks.

Why would we rest everybody? Maybe in the second half?? idk. I wouldnt feel very good about starters having a 2 week rest before a playoff game. That would be unheard of. Win the game then you get your week off with the 1 seed. Ezpz.

Idk...If you have nothing to gain seeding wise...Why risk it

I'm sure he will play but if we are to lose a game, this would be a good one to lose. I ran scenarios through the playoff machine and found the Steelers would still own the #1 seed if they end up 15-1 and the Chiefs do so as well...with one caveat. That only happens if our loss is to an NFC team. If our loss is to an AFC team, they own the tie breaker.

If there are any doubts, then sit him. We don't NEED this game and without him we're fecked! (how's that for stating the obvious?)

I have a feeling he'll be playing. Too much speculation going on without more info.

I am only concerned if he's listed as doubtful or out, not questionable. I expect to see him on Monday.

Its a pretty big risk to have rusty players is it not? People on here tend to complain that Ben starts poorly because he never plays more than 2 or 3 series in the preseason. I could understand if it was a one week rest, but if we are already getting the bye it would be stupid to rest players too much. If we have a big lead or something, or if we just play them for 2-3 quarters maybe... but it would be tough to get creatures of habit like nfl players to have basically 3 full weeks of no game time football and have them be good with it.

For argument’s sake. Say Cleveland already clinched and don’t have a bye so they rest their starters too.

Maybe they feel because this is an NFC team this could be the one bye week for Ben that wouldn’t kill us? I can’t stomach Mason!

Speaking of resting guys in final games-

First of all, there are always upsets in the final weeks that screw up predicted outcomes. Very few games are gimmes at this point.

    Second, recall this game-

    https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/200501020buf.htm

in which the 14-1 Steelers went on the road to freezing Buffalo in week 17 with absolutely nothing to play for, rested their players against a team desperate to win and get in to the playoffs.

Brian St. Pierre played the 4th quarter at QB and "led" the team to victory. Of course it helped that 2 of the Steelers unknown scrubs that day were James Harrison and Willie Parker.
