I think Ben put to much pressure on himself. He probably was worried about his knee and also how he was going to perform. Then came more pressure with the interceptions and more when he did not take advantage of the two picks that Blake had. The big one came when Bell went out of the game. I believe that we will regroup, make the necessary adjustments and get on with the season.

That might be part of it. The other could be a gimpy knee with a knee brace forcing him to throw off his back foot and sailing passes.

The announcers were saying how nervous Ben was to be back due to the pressure. But I'm confused by this. A vet like Ben shouldn't be nervous.

Not nervous but rather hurt! The second drive he was pressured with what i call a minor hit. He then bent over resting his hands on his knees then the facial expression of pain began. After that drive he played down hill into the close of the game. Over the years how many times have we seen that rodeo after a premature return. Ben states in post game interview... " Health wise i'm ok though disappointed in myself this game is on me." Yes he confronted pressure yes a bit rusty but he was hurting regardless of what he said. Deja vu

Ben is the driving force of this team. Of course he put a lot of pressure on himself. I think all good competitors do because they want to win.

I'm sure Ben will settle in this coming week and it will be back to business as usual. At least I hope so. I really want to beat those dirty rotten, stinkin' Raiders!

Its time for the Offense to live up to their expectations.
Yes I know that we have injuries, but there still are some
play makers left that can get us into the playoffs.

I think he puts too much pressure on himself to be a tough guy and return as soon as possible. When he first went down we worried we could have lost him for a year then he's back in 4 games. He shouldn't have played last weekend. Also, he always tends to overthrow when coming back from an injury.

Ben is a franchise QB – he has to be able to deal with the pressure that comes with that.

SteelersDepot ran a couple of articles the past two weeks about how Ben has been rather unlike Ben in games after an injury. The first article posted how he was 2-4 with mediocre to poor stats and now he is 2-5 with those stats getting worse. Unfortunately he isn’t any better the 2nd week back from injury either with a 1-5 record and more yards, but also more picks.

This Oakland game is where Ben is probably going to have to be good to great. Poor play or only so-so play isn’t going to cut it. The Raiders have one of the worst passing defenses in the league and are actually pretty stout against the run – so the writing is on the wall in terms of what has to be done. The Raiders have an explosive offense and if the defense keeps them to 23 or 24 points that is probably a push. That means the offense has to do what they have said they are capable of and score around 30 points.

One thing about Ben is I have always seen him as someone who is great when the pressure or doubters are on the team, but not necessarily on him. Even last season, after the blowout loss in Cleveland the critics were more harsh on how bad the vaunted Steeler defense had become and Ben and the offense comes in and saves the day with three offensive juggernaut performances at home.

This is a game where the pressure really falls moreso on Ben and he is going to have to have to really step it up for the Steelers to win.

I think he comes back to fast after injury and tries to do to much. He knows he is a franchise QB and wants on the field. Ill take a 75% Ben over ANY backup QB we may have at any time. However that comes with consequences.
