Bell is the one who broke the law and the rules and Rogers the one to blame?

Bell got THREE games and Blount only received ONE! No one's saying he shouldn't be punished but it's his first offense and I don't believe it's Blount's and Bell gets three times the punishment! It couldn't have anything to do with the fact that Blount now plays for Goodell's best bud Robert Kraft could it?! And don't forget that Ray Rice was originally suspended for less time (2 games) for upper cutting his then girlfriend and carrying her body around a casino. I swear if it wasn't for the love of my Steelers I would quit watching football because of the mess that Goodell has made in the NFL during his tenure.

Remain calm people and familiarize yourself with the rules. It isn't 1 game vs three for smoking pot. Blount got one game for smoking pot. Bell was penalized for a dual offense. He got three games for smoking pot and getting a DUI. From what I understand the max penalty under the new CBA for DUI is four games, I expected that with it being dropped to two by the start of the season.

:this!: Bell vs Blount is not a fair comparison. The DUI is the issue with Bell.

This is the way it has always been. Our guys get the max....other team's guys don't. The excuse typically is, well those guys were first time offenders. Really, so what happens when our guys are first time offenders....still get the max. It doesn't seem just or fair.

The cautionary tale then in this case is don't smoke weed and drive or if you do smoke call dial a ride. Doesn't matter what Goodell does bottom line is if Bell disn't break the law then there is no problem.

I don't like Goodell, he seems to be very biased in his punishments but Bell made an idiotic choice and has cost his team dearly. Hopefully he learns from this, it should hit him hard about how badly he screwed up and hurt the team.

With any luck, hopefully it will get reduced to 2 games.

Now them looking at Matt Jones and having dinner with him makes sense. If D Will goes down, we need another option week 1-3.

So if it's suspended 3 games but 4 game checks does that really mean that they expect him to play the 4th game for free?

Something doesn't add up. If my company told me to come into work but we won't be paying your salary but rather donating it to the charity of Corporate's choice then I would probably put forth a very dismal effort.

And to think of all the people out there that get suspended WITH pay.

They would have done that regardless, Williams is a stop gap, they need to be grooming somebody behind Bell.

It just means that on top of his suspension, he'll be getting fined an additional ~$46K.

Of course if he doesn't break the law the suspension doesn't happen. I think that is clear everyone agrees to that. This implies that a DUI = 2 game suspension, but look at this article....

    http://nesn.com/2014/10/report-alan-branch-resolves-dui-charge-unlikely-to-be-suspended/

So he gets nothing for the same charge....DUI = No suspension. Now granted he didn't possession, but this doesn't seem fair to me.
