Bell's foot injury is being described as a mid foot sprain. Tomlin said he was scheduled for MRI's tomorrow. There's a lot of early speculative 'doesn't sound good' talk from media right now. Hopefully, it's not as bad as it seems, as these can sideline a guy for weeks.

As soon as they took him out of the game I said to myself, thats it, shelve him and let him get healthy, he's not going to have enough work in to start the season anyway, might as well let him heal. Now they have no choice.

I've heard that sprains are horribly painful. This is just horrible news but hopefully LSH can get it done.

Ya know times are bad when we are relying on a "1 year rental" we got of BA's scrap heap.

Yeah, and those scrubs Redman and Dwyer who were thinking they'd be fighting for the starting job...

Well who actually is gonna be the starter? Did you notice tonight in Ben's interview in game that he referred to LSH as a "3rd down back"? So maybe LSH isn't gonna be the top dude. I really was just thinking that based off last week's performance.

Also why do we need a "3rd down back" since we always seem about 7 or 8 yards from a first down anyway? LOL.

Gotcha. Yeah...the odds of LSH emerging as the top dude are low. Ben was right about him as a 3rd down back. I was just having fun with the relying on AZ's scrap heap remark.

Oh I see. But who do you think will win between Dwyer and Redman? I say the jury is totally still out because Dwyer wasn't great last week and Redman didn't see the field this week. I probably would give a little edge to Redman since Dwyer fumbled tonight and Tomlin seems to hate fumbling like I hate how Michael Bay butchers 80s cartoons. LOL.

I don't know, I just know it can take a while to heal, Santonio Holmes is still nursing his from last season. He'd probably be out a minimum 8 weeks.

I think he will ask to have a FB block for him when he does come back. I think on at least two of the four carries he got a solid lead blocker stops Fletcher from flowing to the hole and blowing up the play.

Note to OL coach: play the footage of Will Johnson finishing his block for the starting OL and tell them that what an undrafted blue collar guy brings to a preseason game now earn your game check.

My wife has a Lisfranc injury right now. 7 weeks into it she can barely put weight on her foot. Now she's no athlete and she ain't 22, but if Bell has that he's more likely on IR than back in 8 weeks

this is also why we need to IR spaeth and move on. we don't have the depth to let two guys be active on the 53 and not play half the season or more.

The team just released an announcement on Bell. He had his MRI yesterday and they are still awaiting the diagnosis, and the results of a second opinion. He won't be participating against KC this weekend (which was obvious). Official results will be released in a couple days.

Don't have a good feeling about this, I don't think it bodes well that it's taking so long to come out with whats wrong with him. Cousins had his results back like the next day.

I'd shut him down the rest of preseason regardless. He was having a great camp, let Dwyer/Red start the season, Bell will be starting by week 3.

Here's to getting a healthy Bell back in the line up. However, one man's pain is another man's opportunity. Dwyer and Red have to see this for what it is... a big freaking Opportunity.

Both of these guys want to play for someone next year if not for the Steelers. It is now or never for them. I expect to see the best from Dwyer and Red over the next couple of weeks. The big question is... will their best be good enough. I think we have all seen flashes from these guys. I am curious to see how this pans out.

Well look at the bright side at least no rookie has torn their knee all up yet. However, there are two pre-season games left too.

Jay Glazer says that the team believes Le'Veon Bell has a lisfranc injury that they are hoping will not require surgery, but won't be sure until he gets it double checked.

Well so much for the $100 I put on Bell to win ROY. Oh well, I still have EJ Manuel to hope for. I bet on both those guys. Not looking good though.

At this point I'm just hoping Bell plays this year so we can see what we have in him.

"Please, Lord, do not let me be drafted by the Steelers. I want to be healthy and eligible for the first week of the season. I want to be a productive member of my new team. Please, please, please, Lord, hear my prayers. Don't let it be Pittsburgh."

I know they are different type backs, but if Bell is out for a significant amount, do you think the Steelers would want to minimize LSH's exposure on special teams? Also, would the odds of keeping Dunn for special team work then increase?
