This is our chance to parlay Dobb's and others for Indy's
    draft choices they have acumulated.

Being good in college, and being good in the NFL there's a big difference . The Steelers are in the process of developing Rudolph.

Yeah can't see much in the vid.... I was listening to sports radio last night when it all broke and then the talk of boos and beer baths started creeping in.

Did you watch him in that Raiders game last year?

I did but don't think they really let him play. If the hose is restricted, you can only get so much water out of it. Until I see him play without the leash, I don't know what he is capable of doing. I saw quite a bit of him in college because his team played mine in the SEC East.

Excuses, I saw Dobbs play in college too, he's the same inconsistent passer in the NFL as he was in college.

Listening to Movin the Chains on Sirius.

Jim Miller mentioned that the Colts should be inquiring about Josh Dobbs as he may be the highest upside QB available as an option

Pat Kirwan shot it down as he thinks the Steelers will keep 3 QBs.

    I agree with Pat.

They would have to give up something good. He is the highest upside QB available.

I don't think the Steelers are comfortable rolling into the season with Rudolph as back-up. He's looked good but needs one more year. Dobbs can be a game manager and with the improved defense. Rudolph will throw games away.

Mason has the Backup Position locked up at this point. No more need be done on his end. It is his to lose.

Regarding Joshua Dobbs?! He does stay but his Mason's backup. I do like the athletic element he brings to the team. That being said, he is still has not fully developed into a mature passer the way Mason has. Then again, having players unable to catch passes and those becoming turnovers are not entirely ideal either.

I don't make excuses for other people, have no reason to. Fact is that he played for a pretty bad TN squad but had decent stats considering the circumstances.

Not once have I said he was great but he's not terrible either as some would like others to believe. TN has been garbage since Fulmer left.

    https://triblive.com/sports/kevin-g...-battle-of-the-backups-should-be-sensational/

One of the points I have been making is Dobbs is playing against number 1's. Masons start against Tampas first string wasn't impressive, 3 punts and fumble in first 4 series. Tomlin says in this article, don't make too much out of performances against 2nd and 3rd string. That doesn't bode well for Mason but then again, I'm trying to remember how much time Dobbs logged against number 1's last season. So maybe just more Tomlin speak.

I think it's up for grabs but feel it will probably go Dobbs way. Last year they both had a good outing in the last game, see what happens tomorrow.

Dobbs will start against the Panthers and play the first quarter. Rudolph will play the second quarter and Hodges will play the entire second half. This according to Steelers.com.

Not sure. I see a link about Hodges and one for the XFL. Maybe he is stating that Hodges has signed with the XFL?

it was a tweet from Hodges. I thought originally that it had meant he signed with the XFL, but Hodges has since clarified that he was only expressing his interest in signing with the XFL.

Indy signed Hoyer to a 3-year deal worth $12M, seems exorbitant to me...

If you think that's bad, they just gave Jacoby Brissett 30 million over 2 years.

I suppose that's low for a starting QB, but damn QB salaries in the NFL have really spun out of control...
