My Gamestop still hasn't decided if they'll have the launch or not. Of course, if the power goes out, it'll be a moot point. :frustrated:

So just to tease those of us in the northeast, Ubisoft released the official launch trailer:

Well Ray I'm fixing to leave and go and get that baby. I hope all is well at your house and you get to play it. I will let you know what I think in the morning. Again I really do hope your family is safe through this thing. I will slit a throat in your honor. LOL.

As of this post I am about halfway through the 5th sequence. I am fixing to go and play it right now but there has been one HUGE twist in the story. Also the way you get introduced to Connor is super cool and I think he probably has the most interesting story of all of the main assassins really. I bet Ray is gonna agree with me on this. Also the sound in the game is awesome. When you get to where you have to play in the snow the sound of walking in the snow is really good. I was thinking "man I can almost smell the snow" because the sound and atmosphere are so good. I will say that the game starts off pretty slow and takes a while to open up. But now I've got to where it's open and there's a lot of things I can do now.

Man, you've got to really feel for Ray. He was so pumped about playing this on release day (started this thread in March!) and I guarantee he's still without power.

Yeah I been wondering about him. So you have no way of getting a hold of him to even know if he's ok or not?

I could email him, but I assumed since he's without power, he doesn't have email access. I'll shoot him an email and see if he's doing alright. I looked up the news in his area, and the news piece said that 1,400 were still without power in his town. One thing I read said that the Power Co. was speculating that it would be out until as late as Sunday.

Man! But at least he's safe apparently right? I mean they didn't have any casualties in his area? Was it mostly rain or just snow?

    I'm back, bitches.

No idea why I said that. Just blowing off steam I guess.

So instead of playing the last 3 days as someone living in Colonial times, I was forced to live like it was colonial times. fun times. :frustrated:

Finally got to start playing it late last night. Connor's now an adult. So I'll probably not advance the story much more as I go hunting and exploring for a while.

    I agree with Desmond: [badwords:13dh2545]"Dafuq?"[/badwords:13dh2545]

Sweet dude!!! I LOVE hunting! Also when you first actually get to meet Connor as a kid and then Charles Lee shows up and does that I was like "man I can't wait to kill that piece of crap!" Also did the thing about Haytham throw you for a loop? It did me. I sat there for a second and I was like "huh!!!! ohhhh I get it. They just got me good!" I knew who he was but I didn't expect him to be what he turned out to be. I do feel like the game started out quite slow but once you get to Boston with Achilles I think you can do a lot more side quests. But wouldn't you agree that the sound is just phenomenal? ESPECIALLY in the snow.

Yeah, Haytham's reveal and Desmond's waking up response was identical to mine (see above). They got me good. Looks like I was right earlier speculating about Charles Lee... or was I? (duhn duhn duhn....)

Funny story, when, as Haytham, you infiltrate the base in the wilderness getting intel on Braddock, I slipped up on my stealth, alerted guards, and just said "@#! it" and went all Benjamin Martin on their asses... only to realize I killed a young George Washington, and desynched. :roflmao:

So far: LOVE the rope dart. Might be my favorite gadget of any AC game. The sound is very good. The first time I heard an elk bugle (from miles away no less), I was in awe.

The first time I met Sam Adams, I yelled at the TV, "DUDE! I love your beer!" :roflmao:

Yeah the rope dart rules for sure. It's basically like Scorpion's weapon from Mortal Kombat. I told my buddy that it's inevitable that someone is gonna make a youtube vid of Connor pulling someone to him with Scorpion's voice saying "GET OVER HERE"! LOL. Also the part you're talking about I wasn't realizing that you didn't HAVE to go stealth and I sat there forEVER trying to do it w/o alerting. Then I realized it was optional and silently took them out to stabilize the cannons. I knew that Haytham was gonna be his dad but I didn't expect the other aspect of it. Also the ship battle was AWESOME DUDE! I wasn't getting it at first but once I figured out exactly how to steer it and stuff I was thinking that I can't wait to go and upgrade my boat and really get in some fights. There must be some tough battles because you get a 40 point achievement for doing them all. Also once we beat the campaign we'll have to play Multi together because apparently it does a better job than Brotherhood. I'm in sequence 7 right now and I keep waiting for the story to jump the shark because it apparently does which is a shame because as of where I am now I really like it. But I read something online that really concerns me. I won't say anything as not to spoil it (eventhough I didn't read what happens or anything but just that particular reviewer thought that there would be some controversy for some reason). One thing about this one though is that I've not been to the store to upgrade anything. I feel like I can win any fight with the weapons I've had the whole game. Also I've not really made a lot of money at all. Have you noticed that or am I doing something wrong?

Not having the basic economy running in the background so far has lowered my bankroll for sure (in other ACs, I was already rich by sequence 5). But I haven't really been trying to make money either. I sold some hunting stuff for about 10K, but other than that, no real money. I'll have to start using the Homestead as that's probably where the real money is.

Have you figured out lockpicking yet? I can't seem to get it to work. I have no problem opening doors, but the chests never open. Unless there's some upgrade I need first, I don't know why it isn't.

I'm pretty sure there's things that you have to do to get keys to unlock those. I think even the basic doors are kind of a hastle though. As far as how to make money there's actually an article on IGN right now about the best ways to do it. I've not read it though because I was afraid it might have some spoilers but I'm gonna go back and read it when I beat the game for sure though.

Yeah, my first time through, I'm not sure I'll care all that much (except the ship upgrades are EXPENSIVE)

LOL. I didn't get to play at all today because it was my wife's birthday and so we had to go out to eat and all that and then by the time we got home I was just dead but I had to get on here to see what was going on. I'm in Sequence 7 doing a really famous scene from American history right now. When you get word of the mission you will probably instantly know exactly what it's gonna be too.

Hey Ray So I beat AC3 and I was just curious if you did and what you thought of the ending. I know some people online have been really mad about it. Also I LOVE LOVE LOVE the multiplayer! SUPER addictive deathmatches! I can't wait til my buddy gets it so we can do wolfpack because that sounds like it would rule big time! There was a lot of things in the game that I didn't utilize like recruiting assassins and sending convoys and crafting things. I never felt like I needed to do anything like that to beat the game. I guess I will go back and do it just to get the acheivement but I think Connor has the best story but I would have to say that overall I still like AC2 the best. What say you?

Yeah there's the epilogue missions. Also I think there's some serious bugs in the lock picking system. There's a LOT of people having problems with it online. Mine basically never works.

You have to hit the trigger faster. And be VERY gentle with the sticks. I picked every chest in NYC and the wilderness without a problem once I got the hang of it.
