If anyone is an AC junkie like me, this is big news.

Game is due out in October. Interesting setting for the new character.

    (oh, and @#$! yeah!!!! :D)

Wow. I must say, this looks pretty sick. I've only played the first one (which I still own and never finished), but this looks pretty amazing.

I'm a huge AC junkie and I'll be the first to admit that the first one isn't easy to get in to. Very, very repetitive. The rest of them are amazing though and the series has an excellent storyline.

Re: Assassin's Creed 3 announcement tomorrow

What's funny is, as repetitive as the first one is, at the time, I didn't really mind. the game type was so new, and being one of the first next gen games, the graphics were mind boggling. Plus the story rocked.

AC2, and Brotherhood took it into the stratosphere though. Revelations was good. It was a nice wrap up for Ezio's story (and Altair's)... but felt a little flat overall. Not the story mind you, but gameplay wise it didn't feel very inspired.

Now AC3 looks to be changing the whole dynamic which is good. We need a fresh take.

Exactly. 2 and Brotherhood were amazing but Revelations felt a little been there done that. Not that the story wasn't great still.

    Thank you E3.

We get new footage, and a new trailer. I think I may be taking some vacation days in late October-early November.

This game looks to be the best yet. It's suffering from awesome overload. New Trailer:

OH YEAH IT'S GONNA BE GREAT! I even liked Brotherhood as well. If the matchmaking would've been better I would have gotten more enjoyment out of it but it's still good. I actually voted AC2 Game of the Year a few years ago. Ezio is the man! I think from this E3 the most pumped I am is probably for Borderlands 2. Although I'm a huge Gears junkie I was so let down by the noob fest that is Gears 3 that the new Gears game has me skeptical.

Assassin's Creed 2 is PACKED with variety. You could really get through the story pretty fast but there are so many cool and fun diversions that you will totally delve so deep in to the side quests that you might spend hours at a time away from the actual story. Trust us when we tell you AC2 is an awesome experience.

None of them are nearly as repetitive as the first one. AC2 and AC: Brotherhood are masterpieces. Easily 40-60 hours of gameplay with all of the side quests (that are actually fun), etc. Even AC:R was good... just not as good as those 2. As we've said before, the story (for AC:R) was good, the gameplay was a little tired. This new one is a complete reworking of the gameplay.

A friend of mine recommended AC to me back when it first came out, and it looked awesome... finally got round to playing AC2 last year and liked it, just didn't have the time at that point to invest days into it. And with me, games are either "completely dominate life" or "ok"... I liked what I played of AC2 but just never really got into it, because of time or mood or whatever.

    However.
Looking at this footage for AC3 makes me want to fire up AC2 and Brotherhood in preparation of its release. It looks absolutely awesome.

Need to wait for the European Championships to finish first, though.

Don't forget Revelations. ;) You'll really want to be up to speed on the story. Although, I'm sure most of it you could just Wiki if you wanted to jump straight to AC3. I recently (last month or so) played through the last 3 ACs just for fun. I'm going to miss Ezio (the whole "Ezio trilogy" is just too much fun) and that time period, but Connor will be great either way.

Oct. 30 can't get here fast enough. :swordsman:

Here's a little 4 part series Ubisoft released on the upcoming game in case anyone missed it:

It's unclear to me if it was ever intended to be part of the game. At least an explorable Philly.

I was really wanting to dive from Freedom Hall. That would've been awesome. Maybe they'll make it dlc. I've been trying to shelter myself from the details because I want to be surprised.

I had never played any of the AC games before. I've been a big Resident Evil fan, and I love the Uncharted games, but AC just never grabbed my interest, and other than Infamous, I've never really liked open world games much.

However, on a whim I bought the first AC game used from BestBuy.com with money I had left over on a gift card. I just finished it 2 days ago, and while I agree that it was very repetitive, it never stopped being fun for me.

So as soon as I finished AC, I went out yesterday and bought AC2, which I'm very much looking forward to playing.

AC2 is the pinnacle for me. As far as Resident Evil I don't know if it's possible to think of a game in the last 10 years that has had the impact of Resident Evil 4.

I agree. The first Resident Evil is still my favorite because of what it was at the time it came out, but 4 took the series, and action/adventure games in general, to a new level. I'd say the first Uncharted had a similar impact, but even it used a lot of what came from RE4.

I'm glad to hear so many good things about AC2. I can't wait to get started.

As far as survival horror in general goes I'd say my all time fave is Silent Hill 2. The atmosphere of Silent Hill is just impossible to match. But the gameplay of RE4 is out of this world. I'm not a fan of open world games either but with AC2 the world is so immersive that you don't feel like you're too far off track by doing a sidequest. There are some REALLY sweet hidden temples in that game. Also there are a lot of references to other games and movies too.

He'll disagree with me (it's all personal preference), but I prefer AC: Brotherhood. More to do, and a better combat system.

But the visuals are gorgeous for AC2. Easily the best cities/maps. Story wise, I'd call it a wash (personal preference again. AC2 has it's strong points, as does Brotherhood). AC: Revelations is a great game (I recently played through AC2, Brotherhood, and Revelations again). Much stronger game than my first impression. It's just hard to live up to the other 2 "Ezio story" ACs.
