I’m going to post these in here as I come across them. Feel free to add your own, good or bad. I already said I think Muth will have a breakout year because of Smiths use of the MOF but Pickens stands to eat a lot as well. Hopefully we will also see more use in the receiving game from Washington with a year under his belt.

Washington could see a lot of use as a check down while Muth is the vertical threat.

In response to that post about Derrick Henry only having 2,293 yards his first 3 seasons is kind of false information. Derrick Henry only had this many yards because he was the 2nd back (splitting carries) behind Demarco Murray that was there his first 2 seasons. Henry's 3rd season in 2018 when he was the featured back he had 1059 yards on 215 carries. When Smith took over in 2019 Henry's workload increased to 303 carries for 1540yards and 2020 he had 378 carries for 2027yards. So I do expect Najee and Warrens workload to increase while splitting carries so they don't run one into the ground.

Play action! Love it! That will be a welcome addition to the Steelers playbook.

With all of the work that we expect from Harris and Warren, a third RB could get some work during the season. Right now the Steelers 3rd back is Godwin Igwebuike, I don't know if he is the answer at #3 or not. A late draft pick could be possible with someone like Frank Gore Jr., he was the MVP in the Shrine Bowl last night and ran for 328 yards in Southern Mississippi's bowl game victory over Rice in 2022.

    Yes whoever does it

The few times Kenny or Mason did it it worked

Couple it with a good run game and you can mosey down the field nicely

He runs primarily zone like we do but uses different personal. Lot of 12 and 21 personnel which we started using more of after Canada. We could see Heyward take on a bigger roll, Smith had a FB on the field a lot. Could see a lot of formations with Muth, Washington and Heyward out there, he likes big personnel.

We switched more to power concepts when Sullivan and Faulkner took over and the run game really took off, hopefully Smith sticks with that instead of going back to primarily zone. It’s said one of Smiths strength is being able to adapt to his personnel so hopefully he doesn’t try to fit a square peg into a round hole.

Smith wasn’t coaching them yet. They had top 5 run game while he was in Tennessee.

A good look at Smith as a person and coach. Kozora does a good job with this stuff.

Don’t think DJ is going to be happy in this offense, wonder if they try to move him. Pickens will fit right in, he’s a tenacious blocker. This will not be a spread offense at all, used 11 personnel the fewest in the league.

I have read what Rooney wants. He wants a return to the running offense. I guess that's ok but if a team stacks up to stop the run then you aren't going to have much success. I am looking for some kind of balance. with the rules defenders have to put up with in the passing game it makes that part of the offense more desirable.

Actually Washington was open quite a lot last year....Hell I even wrote that maybe KFP didn't like him....now I wonder if He just didn't see Him. Number one thing is.....will KFP processing speed pick up. Because while all Qbs miss open targets....KFP was getting out of hand on how many He didn't see.

Was Arthur Smith their guy when that piece of shti M. Vick was in ATL.?? That frigging game where Vick kept making 3rd and 4th long to end up tying us still haunts me.
