Yep. Here we go into the 4 meaningless game schedule otherwise known as who is going to be the biggest injury setback to start the Season?
What other players from other teams will be on crutches for week one?
Who will be the biggest surprise cut?
And lets dump this quality player for a need to fill in for injured ______.
Please Roger if you can ever do anything positive for the game it is to take these 4 useless games and turn them into the same game as the non competitive pro bowl era that you started or slash them down to 2 games only.
I love my football but whenever I see 2 teams charging regular season prices all in the name of not seeing your favorite player injured, it becomes down right gut wrenching.

I went to a Steelers preseason game last year and i can tell you the tickets are not the same price. I paid 35.00 a ticket for much better seats than I paid for the year before for a regular season, nose bleed seat game - 150.00 per ticket. Was it as exciting as a regular game? No. Sean Spence was lost for the season in that game. However, the atmosphere was great and it was much more affordable. So, I guess, I for one, like preseason games. Maybe we dont need four but I dont want to get rid of them entirely. JMO.

I'm strongly against getting rid of preseason games. I love watching preseason games. The process is important and far from meaningless IMO. Sure, the price of tickets some teams charge is ridiculous, but I guess they can charge what consumers are willing to pay.

Please Roger, you've changed too much about this game already.

I would like 2 preseason games and no more. 1 Home and 1 Away. There is enough time to evaluate the talent with practices and the two somewhat meaningless games. Other than that it's all unnecessary injury risk.

I can't stand this notion that preseason games are meaningless. Look at some of the guys who had never been heard of before playing in preseason games. FWP would have never played one down in the nfl if it wasn't for the preseason. It lets the coach know who shows up game day. There are guys that just don't look very good in practice but come game day look phenomenal and there are guys who look great in practice and horrible in the game. I love the preseason as it is kind of like a time machine giving you a glimpse into the future.

I like the preseason but hate it in the fact that the NFL network is allowed to run them as tape delays. So being out of market I get to see the Steelers play on Tuesday or so when the game was Saturday night. Just let them go head to head on the ticket like the regular season. This way you can flip around to all the different games and watch other interesting story lines from other camps. Like how does EJ Manuel look from Buffalo. Is the kid from WVU a threat to Sanchez... Etc. But because they are tape delayed I don't watch any other than the Steelers game.

As for the games Goodell should reduce the price since you are not getting to see the markee players play the entire game for most of the preseason. I do think they should find a way to reduce it by a game or two since the 4th game is pretty meaningless outside of a few final roster spots that have might have already been determined.

And this pre-season shapes up to be one of the most interesting for the Steelers in recent memory. There should be some very good camp battles with a couple of rookies trying to win a starting job, Jones and Bell come to mind. The new OL zone blocking scheme will be on display and I look forward to seeing the rookie QB, Landry Jones, show what he has (or doesn't have). Shemarko Thomas will be out for blood, pre-season or not, and the Dunn kid who makes Wallace look like Hines Ward should be fun to watch, at least for a game or two. And I can't wait to see what the WR from Illinois has. Can he be a dependable number 3? Oh yeah, this pre-season is going to be fun!

Agree with this 100%, stop changing the freaking game already. Preseason is important and far from meaningless and 2 games isn't nearly enough time to evaluate, especially with the new CBA. What are the coaches supposed to tell from football in shorts???

A lot going on this preseason, I'm pumped for it.

I agree. I love watching the new blood, as well as the guys who will never see the field otherwise.

Not watching a lot of college ball, it's great to see some of the guys who are talked about around draft time in the black and gold.

You are right on with your comments TTF, may I also add with the new CBA, players do not get much physical contact in practice and you wonder why the fundamentals are so bad and how can they build up any tolerance to injuries when your not getting any bumps and bruises? When I was playing forty years ago coaches would always tell us you have to get tough and these bumps and bruises will make you a even tougher and they were right, you built up a resistance to the physical demands of the game.

lambert would have made these pampered pups sneak out at night to the practice field, and tell them, i'm gonna hit you so you better put your pads on ,Nancy, we're gonna play some real football now.:lolol:

if my tickets cost the same, and they do, make two of those count. game 3-4. allow teams to keep the top 65 at that point for the next 2 games and your starters can only play a half in each.:hmmm:
